Why not Free Popcorn for Movies??

Been on 6 Disney cruises and the one thing that struck me on my last cruise is why can I have all the free ice cream I want but DCL cannot provide free popcorn for the movies in the theater. They would not have to provide all day but just before the movies start. $6 for popcorn is a little excessive. Just a thought.

Have you been talking to my daughter, she gets very upset about popcorngate. Just guessing but it might be the mess factor in the theater

Agree! But we buy the bucket at the beginning of the cruise & fill it up each night for the bargain price of $4.50 :rolleyes2

If they don't price it, could you imagine waiting in line for popcorn with 1,000 other people? And they would have to pop and bag it...... And yes, it makes $$$ for them to charge.

Seriously we are ALL crazy (including myself), we get all the food free from everywhere else and yet WE are willing to pay, lol! Disney has to love us!

Throw more fuel on the fire :-) Stay concierge they will give you the bagged for free. I still buy the fresh stuff because it is so much better.

Carnival, Holland America and Princess all provide free popcorn! In fact, on HAL we ordered it from room service and it came fresh popped!

Free popcorn for only an extra $25K :scratchin Might have to consider concierge ... or NOT

if everyone had popcorn the theater would be a bigger mess than it already is. When leaving the evening shows it seems like there had been several popcorn accidents every time. There's popped everywhere.

Because the following question has NEVER escaped the lips of any Disney executive at any DCL management meeting ever:

Senior DCL Exec: "O.K....before we wrap up this meeting, can anyone think of anything else we should or could be providing for free to every single DCL guest that we're not already offering?"

So...I'm price conscious and we were sailing for 14 nights, so I packed a Costco Sized bag of Skinny Pop. I also brought movie candy in with us. Im sure I saved a few hundred dollars over the course of 2 weeks.

Can you take food or snacks from breakfast or lunch and take it into the theater?
Typically, full meals are not allowed in the Walt Disney Theater, but may or may not be in the Buena Vista Theater. Snack-type foods (fries, ice cream) are allowed in both theaters (in my experience).
