Well, there went 1 hour of my life I can't get back! I just spent that long on the phone with Target trying to get my problems straightened out. This was after three calls to other people that just passed me on to more idiots. Anyway, this manager found my missing order and said it was stuck in the system, so he cancelled it. The one they cancelled last week he finally agreed to pay me for it, he kept insisting they had refunded it back to the gift card, but he finally did a balance check and saw it was $0. Next came the order that they did not give me my 5% extra for redcard savings, he refused to give me my $6.75 saying it was impossible that I should be able to get it. I gave him my other orders where I received it, but he said No.

So, after all is said and done, they ripped me off on a $500 purchase where they didn't use my target gift cards entered and charged my credit card and refused to change that one, then they got me for another $6.75 on this one. They are cutting into my profits here, don't they understand we need to save money here!! So now I have to reorder my stuck order and I am still waiting for CardPool to release my other missing order.

I guess the fun will continue tomorrow morning when everyone shows back up for work and my calls start!

Why did you submit the order when you weren't getting the 5% Red Card discount? The order confirmation page lists out your savings, and if you weren't seeing the discount you shouldn't have placed the order. That would've been much more practical than calling Target and complaining to them for an hour in hopes of getting the discount refunded after the fact.

Please do not call Target with problems like this. These kinds of complaints will eventually make their way up from management and Target will pull this discount altogether.

When booking your WDW trip didnt you expect to pay full price with the understanding that any savings would be a perk? Sometimes the target discounts and cardpool isnt a guarantee. I would have never went through with the order if I didnt see the discount on the page before hitting continue. I wouldnt call and harass target for a discount that is a glitch in their system. More likely they will now figure out how to fix it and cancel it for everyone. Next time dont waste a hour of your life you will never get back just come to the boards and ask for help. Im sure someone would help you figure it out in a matter of minutes saving you the hassle of speaking to target forever.

Her chief problem with Target was not the missing 5% discount, although it was a part of her phone call. If you read her posts, her bigger issue was the was a missing order, which none of us could help her with. Target had to rectify their own mistake and she pretty much had to lose an hour of her life on the phone if she wanted to have it fixed.

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the near future you can't get 5% off if you are using gift cards to pay online or Target stops allowing customers to pay for any gift card/entertainment card with a Target gift card. I hope that's not the case, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me. They did take away the pharmacy rewards on gift cards.

I suppose that anything is possible. But Target's move to revoke the Pharma5 discount was not precipitated by people phoning their customer service center to complain about not getting their discount. They took away the Team Member and in-store REDCard discount for GC purchases at the same time that they rescinded the Pharma5 discount. They removed the Pharma5 discount online (for GC purchases) but left the REDCard discount in place. One has to wonder why they left it? They certainly could remove it, as the change earlier this year proves. Yet, they put it back.

Wel, I did the cardpool-target-ebay thing for $200 yesterday. It worked out so well, I'm giving it a shot again today.... hoping I don't run into some of the issues people here have. (YIKES). This way of beginning to save for a trip over a year in advance is new to me (usually just do the 6 mo, no interest on the Disney Visa and make payments post-vacation) but it feels really good..... and the savings is a def bonus!!

I believe that you're right and I stand corrected. They removed the Team Member discount both online and in-store at that time. However, that doesn't refute my point that Target .com is capable of removing a discount for specific items if they feel it is necessary to their bottom line.

Well glitch or no glitch people should book WDW vacations with the thought that there will be discounts as that leads to frustration and unhappiness in the booking and planning stages. Any discounts I consider a blessing not something I expect Also my post wasnt to chastise anyone. I was just making a simple observation on her frusteration with target and the discounts. Personally I DONT have enought time in the day to scroll though millions of post with everyone talking and asking questions about the same topic. I generally look at the last few pages to see if any deals are posted that will apply to my 2 upcoming trips to WDW and DLR and keep it moving. If I can get a good deal great if not Im not going to get upset about it. I book my vacations knowing that it will cost me a pretty penny so again discounts are something that is a bonus.
If people keep calling about the target deals perhaps target will decide it isnt worth it with people tying up their phone lines and cancel any and all discounts all together. Just like the paypal deal everyone scooped them up and then were left frusterated with canceled orders.

I don't have a redcard so I didn't even try doing the Target deal. But I did get to use the Amex-Walmart-Sam's Club deal.

My Amex had an offer for Walmart website where you spend $79 and get $15 back as a statement credit. So I went on Walmart website and bought $80 worth of Walmart e-gift cards (1@ $50 and 1@ $30). On the offer it states that Corporate Gift Cards are excluded so I was worried. I picked the YAY cards and it worked - not sure if it matters which type of e-gc you get. I received my email with my e-gc within an hour. I did this twice - have two seperate accounts and each one had the offer. I then went onto Sam's Club website and ordered the $150 Disney gc(pack of 3@ $50) which cost $142.98. I used all four e-gc to buy it (luckily they allow you to use up to 4 forms of payment at once). I also purchased 1 $50 Disney gc for $48.88 and paid the rest with my amex. Both orders are now shipped (free shipping and no tax) and I already received my statement credit of $15 on both accounts - this took about 3 days after transaction was posted.
So with the statement credit and the small discount at Sams here's my savings:
Paid a total of $161.86 for $200 Disney gc. Saved $38.14 or 19%

I know this isn't a DVA thread but I didn't want to start a new thread for this question. I am going to be $94 shy of receiving a second $20 gift card for spending over $1000. I thought about adding a Pirate Adventure Cruise for my kids if it qualifies but I'd still be short. Now, I plan to purchase DLR passes in the near future but will probably buy 3 day tickets and then upgrade them so I can do payments. ANYWAYS, once I go over that next threshold will I receive the bonus or is it only for the same trip?

I thought about adding Memory Maker but eh... not worth it for $20. Not for a short 6 day/4 park day trip anyway.

For those of you that are nice, will someone that has successfully used Ebay tell me if you had checkout issues where there might be a limit on the number of gift cards you can use? It seemed to not let me use enough gift cards to complete the order and made me use paypal for a small amount. Is that common?

You can use a maximum of 8 gift cards per transaction (and a max of $500/transaction). This inherently limits the amount of GC you can buy in one transaction. Also, unverified PayPal accounts can spend only $500 total using eBay gift cards every 30 days. Verified PayPal accounts can use up to $5,000 every 180 days.

I was able to use 6 of the ebay gift cards to purchase $200 worth of Target gift cards and the shipping. I was so nervous when I entered those 5th and 6th ones!
