Teardrop Campin

My family have been to Disneyworld twice, but I am the middle of building a teardrop camper for the wife and I. This has led me to start dreaming of camping at the Fort. What is a good place for Teardrops there? Any loops better. Can a teardrop go in a tent site? Can wife and I be in the teardrop and throw up a tent also for a couple kids? Thanks.

Very cool that you're building your own. It can go on any site in FW. Yes, you can also put up a tent for the kiddos. If you pick a tent loop I'd request 1500 if it's just you and the wife. We'd love pics of the progress of the build.

I'm with Denise. Pics of the build would be fun!

It's funny, I will build a race car from the frame up and go out and run it at 150 mph, but building a camper from the ground up seems like a lot of work. :-) I'll fix anything on my trailer, but the thought of a total build is intimidating.

Have fun! Friends bought a T@b trailer last year. I don't think I would ever talk my DW into it, but they seemed pretty neat. Much simpler and back to "camping" instead of the "RVing" I do now.

We have had our teardrop (Benroy hybrid) to WDW 3 times and stayed in 100 loop once and 200 loop twice. The last time we stayed in 200 loop we had a tent for our kids to stay in with a portable AC. Worked great. We also put the tent under a 10 x 10 ezee up with walls to keep out the weather and also help keep the tent cool.
Our camper was a family project. My dad and I built it, my mother made the Disney curtains and my wife did the staining and applying the urethane.

Thanks for posting all. I lost track of life for a while and spent more time in the garage. Progress is good though.

You can park your teardrop on the tent/pop up loops and add a tent for the kids no problem :) Be sure to call and have it noted on your reservation that you will need a spot big enough to accommodate both. You really shouldn't have a problem fitting both camper and tent on a site.

Thanks for sharing your progress so far!!!

@JETS70 that is such a fantastic set up! I love it. Care to share any interior photos??? I'm so curious!
