All Good Things Come To Those That Wait - A Pre-trip Report

I love the new necklace as well! You are going to need a second suitcase for all your jewelry!

Congrats on booking Aulani! It looks amazing...I really need to get to Hawaii again some of these days.

All the jewellery will fit nicely in a box, which neatly will fit into the front pocket of my carry on.

Hi Corinna,

WOW, two weeks only, that makes it nearly a year for me :rotfl:.
All the jewellery look beautiful.
WOW Aulani, your birthday holiday sounds amazing.
I don't mind packing but I always feel like I am forgetting something so I start to get things together a few weeks before the trip.
I will be really looking forward to your trip report to get ideas for our PC cruise next year :thumbsup2

I suppose as long as you have your passport and a credit card, everything else can be sorted out.

I am so looking forward to Aulani. We were only going to stay for a week at first, but then Graham suggested we extend it to 10 days.

I can't wait until I can get started with the next trip report. I have trip report withdrawal symptoms. It will probably take me a week or two after getting back before I get started.

Fantastic updates Corinna :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The jewellery looks amazing :lovestruc and can't wait to see it together with all your dresses.

The remaining time will fly by especially with you being so busy at work.

If you get desperate for peanut butter chocolate my local supermarket sells the Reece's stuff, not sure if it's anything like the chocolate you like (I don't eat it as I don't have a sweet tooth & honestly couldn't tell you the last time I had chocolate so have no idea what its like) but I can pop some in the post to you if your desperate :confused3

Thanks. When I booked this I thought once Easter is here, it is nearly time to go. Now Easter is here. I still have a lot of stuff to cover at work before I go. I am sure time will fly.

I can get the Reece's Peanut Butter Cups in most supermarkets in Manchester, but the Dove Promises Peanut Butter Chocolates are in a different league. Dove is what is Galaxy over here. After I have tasted those, the Reece's stuff suddenly does no longer appeal.

Love the necklaces!

I adore PB as well but sadly can't eat chocolate. My favourite is goober PB and Jelly jars! I bring loads home! Congrats on Aulani what a lovely birthday trip!

What did you mean you will pick up the jewellery at Miami? Have you ordered some to pick up there that you bought at the airport?

I didn't know you could get character calls to the UK! Too cute :-)

Congrats on the new dress, the lovely shoes and sandals and the necklace. I really can't wait to see your pictures in your outfits.

YAY for having booked Aulani. Well done! Sounds like you're going to have a fantastic year.

That is a shame that you can't eat chocolate. Graham is allergic to chocolate so I mainly eat chocolate at work.

The artist who has made all my jewellery lives in the USA. It seemed silly for her to send it from the USA to the UK and then me taking it back from the UK to the USA pretty much as soon as it gets here. So she is going to send it to our hotel in Miami.

I spotted the ability to schedule a character call if you are in the UK for the first time when I had my December cruise booked. On previous cruises, it was only available for USA and Canada. It is rather cute. Last time I had Mickey and this time I have chosen Mickey and Minnie.

Well, you only turn 40 once ;)

I can't wait to see Aulani. I looked at some of their daily entertainment guides and it looks like there is at least one Stitch meet and greet every day. I will be in heaven. We are also planning to get the length of stay pass for their snorkeling reef and make good use of the pools and the beach.

Cool re your jewellery being posted to Miami hotel! Great re you getting Mickey character call :-)

This will our third visit to Puerto Vallarta. This port has a special place in my heart, as this was where I learned to snorkel, which has since become an important port of our holidays. As you will have noticed, this is also a recurring theme on this trip. We are heading to Las Caletas this time. We were booked on this excursion by Disney Cruise Line after we were diverted due to a medical emergency on our Mexican Riviera cruise in 2011 and as a result got into Puerto Vallarta too late for the excursion that we had booked. We both fell in love with this place. Las Caletas is part of the mainland, but can only be accessed by boat. It therefore has a real island feel. It takes about an hour by boat to get there from Puerto Vallarta, but the boats that they use for this are big and comfortable. On the way back, the cocktails are flowing pretty liberally as well. Las Caletas is a real tropical paradise and offers many of the same things that Castaway Cay offers and some extras like cookery classes, animal encounters and free watersports like snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding. There is also a buffet lunch included as well as an open bar. The beach there is beautiful and there is also a floating platform in the sea for sunbathing. We spent most of our time swimming and snorkeling last time and had an amazing time.

Las Caletas looks gorgeous, a fabulous day planned :) I've always wanted to pet and hold a monkey but have never found the opportunity.

Las Caletas is really a little piece of paradise. This is a very worthy replacement for Castaway Cay. They had three types of animal encounters: the monkey, parrots and a snake. I passed on the snake.

WOW. Love the parrots. Looks like a great day.

I loved the parrots, too. As we were approaching Las Caletas, before we could even see the land, some parrots had flown over to welcome the boat. It was an amazing sight. I even got a parrot "kiss" during one of the animal encounters. I was given a sunflower seed and was asked to put the end between my lips so that most of it stuck out. The parrot then came over and got it from my lips.

I can breath a very cautious sigh of relief. My dresses are now in the UK. They arrived at the Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre yesterday morning. Hopefully I will have them in my hands by the middle of the week.

Oh I just adore parrots how wonderful! I am just amazed by the stops on your cruise. I had it in my mind there weren't many good stops on the canal cruise. Boy was I wrong. Another bucket list must have!

Pam I have a monkey phobia lol. I try to get around AK via a different route to avoid the monkeys .... But DW just tries to distract me. But I know they are there....watching....lol
