The amazing Australiankaren"s Completed TR..

wow. i lose the internet for 24 hours (stupid telco provider) and you go and write the better part of your TR!!! awesome pics and recollections from your trip!! and i'm loving the disney paraphernalia on the FOS cruise :) also, loving the long line disney tanks and your character shirts - very holiday chic :)

can't wait to see the rest of your TR

Love love loving the trip report. Art of Animation looks very cool. I think your segway photo is going to be awesome and I too noticed the matchy matchy outfits. Cruise looks great although all those deck chairs on the beach not so much. I hate sand also, snap to that.

The seafood at those 2 yukky restaurants looks positively gross. :crazy2:.

You look like you are having the most amazing time in each and every photo.

All caught up..loving the report and all the pics too-looks like another brilliant trip. Those deck chairs at the Cay - have to say I haven't seen a pic of a port stop on any Carab. cruise TR (Disney or otherwise) that makes me want to rush over there...the boats themselves-now they look swish...though still don't think cruising is for us. I'll just keep your deckchair by your pool warm for an extra few days while you cruise about.

ahhh the buses......no i do not like POP buses....great during off peak, but at busy times...oh dear...

just try to time them not at opening, closing or after the fireworks and you'll be fine.great thing is they do not share with any other resort...

Eeek, that doesn't sound good. We're early risers, so intend on always aiming for opening. Plus, our plan was to chill out in the hotel during the hottest part of the day and try and go back to the parks for fireworks. It sounds like we'll be in for bus queue headaches. Is it bad enough to consider saving more to stay at a moderate resort - or are their buses just as bad?

Also, I'm loving your WDW food pictures - they're making me drool - but the look of the cruise food is leaving me a bit ambivalent. It looks like from your t-shirt that you have done a Disney Cruise at some stage. Can I ask how you compare the food between the two lines?

Thanks again for your TR, I'm finding it reallly useful.

Wanderlust - I didn't mind the buses and as Karen mentioned, they don't share buses with any other resort so that's a huge bonus. I also love that Pop is actually so close to AK and HS. It will be so warm while you are there the air conditioning on the bus will be your friend :). Use it as a time to relax and definitely go to the parks early to avoid crowds.

The buses were fine at pop, never had to wait for more than five minutes - this was peak morning period. I imagine the moderate resorts would be the same, they are all huge resorts.
We also cruised freedom of the seas and found the food to be great.

another thing we havent done before.....was great for a quiet dinner...no one seems to go there, food was good, we were the only ones there so service awesome..and I got to see my DH dance

I am a clever girl......

I made a hamburger out of cup cakes.....combining my 2 favorite foods...so if you sail on a RCCL boat, make sure to sign up for the class..it takes 45 mins, is only on sea days, and has kids or adult classes...you get to chose what cake you want to do..ie Lion, burger or something else...

So this trip we have tried kona for breakfast and lunch..so thought we'd do dinner.....

made a resi for 9.10 pm..but was hungry so turned up at 7. the guy said we'd be next.......roll on 8pm, DH starting to turn.....goes up and the guy says he was going to just slot us in at our resi time of 9.10pm....so DH blew a gasket, and i mean big time....manager was called...so surprise surprise a table opened up 2 mins later....

after a not so good start, and then being placed next to a 20 something woman who breathed thru her ears, she talked non-stop.....the food came out, and all was forgiven:thumbsup2

so people, make sure when you turn up early for a resi, they dont try to push you back to the original time.... that's what they do if your not looking...

so, here's the food

Oh Freedom of the Seas, again how I love you xxx (more than Air NZ Karen because I'm very used to Air NZ and therefore probably take it for granted). I'm disappointed that we didn't have time to try Johnny Rockets - though our two younger daughters went there one night for a Kids Club dinner while we adults were eating at Portofino. I really think I need a two-week cruise on Freedom to feel like I've had enough time on her as 7 nights was too short. Freedom was the fifth cruise ship that I have cruised on (previously done Star Cruises, Carnival, another RC ship and the lovely Oceania) but she is certainly my favourite! :cheer2: It's funny to me that, although I love all things Disney, I have no desire to do a Disney cruise if I can cruise Freedom (or one of her sister ships) instead.

So we stumbled across the new shop and waiting area for dumbo, they had just opened that day.....score!!! We even got a free chocolate dipped marshmallow (no photo it was gone too soon).....great detailing....so here are some happy snaps
