One of the funniest things I've ever heard at WDW:

I took my son to Disney when he was four. He was insistant on riding ToT. We get on the ride, it does its thing and then.....WE GOT STUCK!!!! At the very top. After about 30 seconds went by I asked out loud "Is that it?" I was thinking it might stop and start again just to scare us more(first time on it, wasn't sure what to expect). Anyway, there was this BIG guy. The kind you would not think would be scared of anything says "I effin hope so. That nearly scared the poop out of me!"(only he didnt say poop)
When we got off the ride, my son says "Phew I can breathe now!" I said "what are you talking about?" and he said: "Mommy I was so scared I had to hold my breath the whole time we were on it!"
This was coming from a kid who was terrified to ride Haunted Mansion, but absolutly HAD to ride ToT!!! :lmao:

Even better than not knowning about Disney, one of my friends told me last night she was going to Harry Potter at Universal, Knotts Berry Farm, and Disneyland over Spring Break. I had to break it to her that HP is in Florida, not CA. She freaked out because she had promised her kid!

OH no! Hope she had not already bought park tickets for Universal!

In relation to the original post... a friend from out of town was visiting Disneyland, so I said I would meet her once the kids got out of school.
We got there at 3, and she tells me what they have done so far, including the "pirate ride." We end up over by IASWHoliday to watch the firreworks, and after, I ask if she wants to go on the ride now. With suprise in her eyes, she asks, "That is a ride? I thought it was just a pretty show." (the holiday projections) So while we are in line, I got a thought, and asked her what she meant earlier by the pirate ride, and she tells me the rafts over to the Pirate Island, of course. I was so suprised, because we met up outside of POTC, so we made our way back over and went on the real pirate ride. And I pointed out every building in between the two that housed a ride. And over dinner, I grabbed a map and a sharpie and put a star by all the rides so she could find them the next day.
I was completely floored that she didn't know there wer rides everywhere!

Maybe your son was holding his breath because he thought the big guy had really had the poop scared out of him.:lmao:

On our honeymoon DH and I were eating at Boma. There was a nearby table with two boys and their parents. They boys were maybe 7 and 9 and were just fighting, aggravating one another, typical kid stuff. The dad had brought a plate of zebra domes back to the table but requested the boys finish some of their other food first, and I guess the the older boy must have been harassing or taunting the younger one with the idea that he would eat them all. The next thing I heard very loudly was,

"DAAAAAD! Justin won't stop licking the zebra balls!"
:scared1::lmao:

DH spit out his coke and started dying of laughter. I had tears streaming down my face from trying to hold it together!

My DBF told me a couple weeks ago that he thought that the castle could be lowered into the ground in the event of a hurricane to prevent it from getting damaged. :lmao:

This remark came a week after he had just vacationed there with me! :rotfl:

We were just at the end of RRC when you stop and are waiting to move forward to disembark. The music had just turned off and we all heard this young boy (about 8) yell at the adult he was with "you are lucky I didn't die!"
The whole cart burst out laughing.:lmao:

This past week at epcot me and a friend were sitting on a bench near china watching illuminations when a little boy around 4 years old standing next to us points to the globe and goes "hey its the earth! The earth, it came down!" he pronounced it like earf making it even cuter

So far in the 3 days we've been here I've heard Tiana called Tatiana, Alice called Cinderella, and Vidia called Vida :sad2: Funny thing was that both the Tiana and Vidia mistakes were made right in front of signs with the correct name...and Alice was sitting on top of the giant mushroom in the parade!

DH and I shared a Space Mountain coaster with a dad and a little boy of about 6 or 7...didn't think anything of it...then on our way out past the dioramas, we hear this little voice behind us shouting to his dad:

"This was so much better without Mommy!" :rotfl:

We both cracked up.

Yesterday in MK Hall of Presidents the CM announced no flash photography etc. The minute the show started a man in front of us starting taking flash pictures and my son(8) exclaimed "apparently this guy didnt hear no the part about no flash photography". I was sort of embarrassed but it was so true. :lol

I heard a man yesterday outside of BTM tell his daughter" sweetie, if you dont stand up tall when the check your height, you wont be able to ride."

Well, that is true enough. :goodvibes

A lot of kids (and adults) slouch instead of standing up tall and straight. It can certainly make a difference whether they get to ride or not if they are just tall enough!

I think I posted this a while back, but it bears repeating.

Pop Warner family checking in at POR; never been to the World before. Wife and son outside by the Marina and see the water taxi that goes to DTD; I am sitting on one of the rockers just outside the door to check-in. Husband emerges through door with daughter and check-in package in hand.

Husband - Honey, we have to go back inside to catch a bus.

Wife - we want to take that boat to Walt Disney World.

Husband - we have to go out front to a bus.

Wife - but we want to take the boat to Walt Disney World.

Husband (out of ear shot of kids now standing at the Marina, but right next to me). You are not going to believe, we are IN Walt Disney World. This hotel is in Disney World. We are staying at Walt Disney World.

And get this, there are four parks, FOUR PARKS. We have to take a bus out front to get to the parks. We have to take the right bus to get to the right park. And there are two water parks, two water parks.

Wife looks dazed.

Husband - You wouldn't believe how f****** big this place is. I don't know what we have gotten ourselves into this week.....

Wife - but what about the boat?

Husband - we will figure that out later.

.......
Second happened the other night on the bus from MK to Pop Century, it was EMH evening, we were all tired and wanting to get back to the resort, when someone on the bus passed gas, and it was TOXIC, so these two southern guys started making comments about the smell, and how bad it was, but the funniest to me was when the announcement came over the loudspeaker about taking small children by the hand, one of them said "the children are all dead, they suffocated from the smell", and believe me, it was even funnier hearing it with that southern accent, my friend and I were busting a gut we were laughing so hard after that, now whenever we smell something nasty we say to each other in a southern accent "the children are all dead, they suffocated from the smell!" and it gets us going now.

baahaha!

A few years ago, I got on the TTA, thinking it would be a wonderful leisurely way to get off my feet for a bit and just close my eyes and enjoy the ride.

A mother and her son (probably in his 20's) were on the ride a few seats before me.

Suddenly, I hear this woman scream at the top of her lungs as it starts getting dark - I realize we are going through the tunnel near Space Mountain. At first I thought she was afraid of the dark or something.

But, I mean this woman was screaming at the top of her lungs and wouldn't stop.

Finally, she screamed to her son, "I told you I am not going on that ride, you get me off of this thing right now."

She thought we were riding into the Space Mountain Ride itself. Ugh.

hahahah! When I started to read this thread, I figured I'd skip the 1st 15 pages or so..... but after a few pages realized, nope, these are killers, got start at page one.
Then as I started to read this one, I thought: !!!!oh oh!! Somebody posted this about his mother!!! haahahah..... but then I realized I had gotten back to the place where I started and that I was just rereading Miss Tara's post! lol.

This past trip, as we walked into DS, we heard a Dad telling his little (4 yr old, maybe?) daughter that, No, he was going to continue to hold onto to his wallet and not give it to her.

We were on a girls trip and thought, Man...where do you think she got *that* from?!

hahahaha!

OMG, these are all so funny.... now that I'm experienced with Disney & Disboards! But I can remember being a newbie and none of this would have sounded too odd! lol! I'm going to Universal in October, and have only been there 2x, both on whirlwind visits, following somebody else.....I'm thinking I better familarize myself with that lest I be overheard! And published! lol!

Now I'll go back to page 18 or so to finish reading.... curse you all, I had a ton of paperwork I meant to do today! :thumbsup2
