Okay so...even though my trip is two weeks away i packed...

And i am not sure if because of al the surprises or what- but I have my luggage packed and a carry on packed! I never had a carry on!!! I do have alot of secret surprised for my fiance for the honehymoon but still...am I overpacking?

Calling magical express now for a extra luggage tag cross your fingers it comes in time!!

as for shopping- I 've been shopping every day this week and I sadly discovered - ladies only - that they discontinued my favorite bra!! OMG..why do they do that???????????? Still need underwear.... TMI?? LOL.
I forgot to make a pedicure appt...darn...crap..just called, 8am on tuesday?? are my toes worth it???? oh well. done.
Now I just have to organize the household stuff that has to come with us...luckily, I don't need to pack big large bulky items - shirts and t's dont take much room.

You girls and your disneymoon plans are cracking me up. When I did it, I gave absolutely no thought to the disney vacation part so the morning after the wedding we got back to our apt to pack and I shoved everything I owned into a bag and off we went. LOL. It was great. I wish I could recapture that sense of not caring ..just doing!

...

I'm starting to think more specifically now about our plans in the parks each day. I'm going to sign up for RideMax this weekend and see how that compares to the UOG touring plans. Which reminds me-- has anyone here every made up a personalized touring plan on the UOG website? It seems rather confusing to me...

And the next dilemma -- to EMH or not? We didn't on our last trip -- followed our UOG touring plans almost to the letter and loved it...but I've been seeing some people just back from their trips saying that they got a lot of rides done in that one hour EMH...TGM and UOG all say to avoid EMH, but I'm second guessing...

What do you all think?

I've done TGM and looked at UOG. What I've discovered from my own bad touring in the past is that we'd sit in our room the night before and we'd say "Ok, MK has EMH tomorrow..lets go there" but we'd NEVER make it for RD..and we'd arrive at 10 or so ...with every other resort guest who decided they also were doing EMH. I think EMH will work beautifully for you IF you get there for rope drop.

Why am I at work today? Most people took the day off and it's so quiet and dull around here! Oh well -- plenty of DIS time! And I've putting putting the info in my trip planner so I put that together this weekend, so that's good.

I can't quite grasp planning which rides to go on when! When we get there, we'll take the kids on the kid rides first (carousel, dumbo, magic carpets), older kids will go wherever, as long as they show up for dinner.

I wouldn't even think of missing EMH, especially late magic hours. We've gotten on Soarn' with little wait, I refuse to wait more than 60 minutes for any ride, and a triple play on Kali River Rapids. my nephew went on Splash Mountain like 4 times in a row during a late magic hour. We've also got some great character time during EMH. My DD who was 5 at the time got to ride the carousel with Pluto during late magic. We visited 5 characters in a row at AK's late magic hours once. Its worth it. Just nap during the day and you'll have the energy for it. And don't forget to bring your camera even though its dark. I made that mistake once. Luckily, my cell phone could take pics.

9 more days... single digit dance!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Do you guys catch yourself saying: when we're in Disney.....blah blah blah

You know, warn your family as to what you expect. Like let me sleep when I ask you, etc..

We avoided EMH parks on our last trip, per the UOG, and it worked out absolutely beautifully for us -- following the touring plan and using FastPasses, we rode everything with a wait of 20 minutes or less the entire five days of our trip, with only one exception -- POTC wasn't giving out FastPasses so we waited 45 minutes for that one. So I know the UOG touring plans (which recommend avoiding the EMH parks and being there at rope drop) work...

We're hoping to make rope drop every day, which means that late night EMHs are not gonig to happen for us at MK -- 11 pm to 2 am is way too late for me -- I get physically sick if I don't get enough sleep for more than a couple of days in a row...I think the AK and EPCOT evening EMHs would be ok...but we wouldn't make rope drop if were out late the night before...so I just don't know. Go with what we know worked last time, or try something knew? Decisions, decisions... :confused3

Ok, let's talk wardrobe...

I'm trying to figure out what to pack and what will be coolest. For religious reasons, I don't wear sleeveless tops/tank tops or shorter shorts or skirts (Bermuda shorts are fine, skirts/dresses that hit an inch or two above the knee are fine). In the summer here in Georgia, I find myself most comfortable in lightweight skirts (the breezy, loose kind) and t-shirts, or lightweight shorts and a t-shirt. I have a few CoolMax shirts.

I'm trying to figure out what to pack...I have a few pairs of lightweight khaki shorts and bought a really cute, lightweight knit sundress (knee length) to wear over a fitted t-shirt. I've seen lots of people in the parks in dresses/skirts so I don't think it will be that crazy, right? I keep thinking about how much cooler it might be than shorts...

Would I be crazy to wear a casual sundress or skirt in the parks? I tend to be more comfy in skirts anyway, and I'm careful about how/where I sit in skirts, how I get up and down, etc...

What do you think?

I used to do this and liked it except for getting in and out of some rides and sitting and waiting for the parades, when wearing shorts would've been a better choice. Now that I'm dealing with a 3 year old, there is no way I'd wear a dress. Too much grabbing at mommy!

My dining table is about to collapse under the weight of "Stuff to Go to Disney". My poor little suitcase looks scared.

Don't you hate that? I swear, it's a conspiracy! It's like when they discontinue the perfect shade of lipstick after you've finally found it after years of searching. Ugh!! And yes, your toes are worth it! Have them put little Mickey heads on your big toes -- so cute! (Either with black nail polish -- it's just three dots -- or with the little rhinestones)

The only solution is to bring several park bags! I have several park bags depending on weather, what I'm gonna do etc. I have a tote style bag with a mickey wearing sequined shorts. That zips across the top and is water resistant, I also have a smaller version with little mickey's printed all over it.

The fact that you have that many bags and are prepared for anything that may come up just makes me insanely jealous!!!! :worship: I don't even need to see the mickey bags you have listed to know that I want them and "need" them. I guess you have had them for so long now they can't be found anymore. Oh well, that gives me more reasons to shop at Disney! :goodvibes

I routinely toss on a lightweight skirt in Disney - especially at night. the only problem is waiting for a parade. How much more cool and comfy can you get?? I don't like shorts either - but just because I have butt ugly legs LOL - but I have had no trouble finding bermudas this year - the only trouble is that I think they might be too hot..but I'm going to just deal with it as it comes.

I have to say I was thinking this, too. The first time I went to WDW was on my honeymoon. We booked the trip less than a week before we went, as we had decided not to take a honeymoon and some family talked us into it.

I had never been and DH had been as a young child to MK. We literally threw clothes in a suitcase that morning before we left for the airport. We stayed at HI on I-Drive. We were married in the beginning of May, so it was pretty much empty from what I remember. I've been married 22 years, so there were no AK or DHS then. I think we might have gone to Sea World, but I really don't even remember.

BTW, we hated the food then and went off-site to eat every meal.

My how things have changed :)

I am stressing right along with you if it makes it any better. And I still have longer to go than you do! I decided yesterday that it would somehow be a good idea to start the search for the "perfect" park bag all over again. :scared: Keep in mind that I have already done this and purchased "the bag" months ago. But noooo, I wake up yesterday and the first thought that pops into my mind is that bag and all the reasons it won't work and I shouldn't have bought it. So here I am 16 days out and looking for a bag to carry into the parks. DH is really losing his patience at this point. Of course that didn't stop me from shopping today. :rotfl:

I just got a new bag and I'm so excited to use it! I got a Baggalini like tons of Disers recommend in purple. I love it! It has a bunch of compartments and I really am hoping it works well in the parks! Plus I think my LGMH will stand out well on it!:rotfl:

we got married in 91...sept..so it was pretty quiet then too. I think MGM was open then..with almost nothing to do LOL. We stayed at CBR.. ate at Chef Mickeys when it was in the Shopping Village, ate at the Disney Inn (I think it was that trip) mostly..don't remember much other than the monday we arrived was the first Monday Night Football of the season and the Bears were playing - dh is a chicago boy - so we watched the game. :) LOL.. but food..we must have eaten...hahaha.. ahh to be that young again!

Yea, my legs leave something to be desired. But I wear shorts anyway. I know they're ugly, people don't have to look if they don't want to!;)

I'm bringing a couple sundresses. All the girls are bringing dresses for the tea party at the Grand. I'm also bringing a couple of cute skirts, one is the crinkly tiered style and the other is tiered with a minnie-mickey print. Both are longer though, I haven't decided if I'll go for shorter skirts since climbing in and out of some rides can be indelicate.

My Mickey bags came from the Avon catalog, so they may or may not have them if you look online. I also have Mickey flip flops from Avon and a Mickey overnight bag. ::MickeyMo::MinnieMopluto:
