Honeymoon Day 8
February 10, 2009
Ok so this is the day we did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. This isn't a picture packed update but there are a few funny pictures to post.
So we headed over to City Hall to the touring garden to sign in and place our lunch order. We also were given bottled water, name tags and ear phones so that we could hear our tour guide which I tought was pretty cool.
So we went over to the Roy Disney and Minnie Mouse statue where our guide discussed the statue and some other facts about the Magic Kingdom. I don't want to share to many details of the tour because I don't want to spoil it for anyone that may be taking the tour in the future. I will just skim over some details. We introduced ourselves to the other members of the tour. We gave our names, where we were from and our favorite character which of course was DONALD DUCK!!
We then headed down Main Street where we learned some very interesting facts about the buildings down on Main Street. We sat in the alley way where they usually do the drawings and sillouettes and our tour guide gave us some more Main Street info.
It was pretty cool touring in the morning because we started off in the tour before guests arrived in MK. I had never been to MK for a rope drop so I never knew they blows bubbles around in the hub in the morning which was really cool! I think i will try to wake up earlier next time to make some park rope drops!
We headed over to Adventureland where we took a potty break and then learned some facts about Adventureland. We then headed to the Jungle Cruise for a ride and more interesting facts about the ride. I hadn't been on the Jungle Cruise for a long time so it was interesting. I learned so much about the ride that I would have never imagined.
After that we walked through Adventureland and headed toward Frontierland to go backstage. Here we saw the parade floats and the back parts of the rides. You would be surprised just how close the lands all are in MK from the backstage view. We also learned about Disney's trash and recycling process which was even interesting.
After that we walked through Frontierland into Liberty Square. We learned more interesting info about Frontierland and Liberty Square. The little details around MK are amazing and you probably never even noticed!
We went over to Columbia Harbor House for lunch but they weren't ready for us so we went over to the Haunted Mansion. We went in the back way so we didn't have to wait in line. The entrance lead us right into the room with no doors or windows and we got to pass everyone else in line to get on the cars. It was really cool to be able to go into the back entrance!
Our guide told us to look out for certain hidden elements in the ride including a hidden Donald! I found him but I won't tell where he is!
After the ride we headed over to lunch. I had ordered the chicken strips basket. I think Bobby got the chicken and fish strip combo. We had place cards of where we were supposed to sit. They seated us with other members of the tour so we had a chance to chat with some really nice people. Under our name tags we got a cool surprise. Here are the pictures of the name tag and the surprise we got. It was a key pin that said Keys to the Kingdom. It was really nice. I took these pictures back at the hotel.
Not the greatest pics but you get the idea. This is why I need a new camera!!
So after lunch we went underground! This is the part I was waiting for. It is amazing what goes on down there!!! We watched a little video down there and then it was back up onto Main Street we went. After more Main Street info the tour was done. Sounds brief but it really wasn't. I highly recommend this tour!!!!!!!!!!! It was great!!!!
After the tour we stayed in MK and headed over to Casey's for a hot dog and fries. There were no tables so we ate up on the bleachers. It was cute because ducks kept coming in and trying to see if anyone would feed them but the CM's chased them away.
I should have taken pics but I was HUNGRY!! LOL. Bobby wanted some ice cream after that so we went for some ice cream and sat down admiring the castle. I really must have been anti-pictures today for some reason.
We then headed over to Splash Mountain.
We had fast passes that we got for touring the DVC that were instant fast passes. We tried to get some for Big Thunder Mountain but the ride was shut down for some reason so we went over to splash mountain and got our instant fast passes and headed on. While we were walking over to the logs Bobby was asking me all sorts of questions about the ride. Like how high is the hill, is there only one hill, etc etc. I was cracking up! I told him to stop being a baby and just get on. Which he did. He was scared though. Here is a pic of him when we first got on.
I was taking pics but he wanted me to stop so he could ask me questions. I forgot about the little hill that comes sort of in the beginning and he freaked out over that. LOL.
So here are some pics I took during our happy little ride.
We went up the hill to the part that kind of flattens out. You know this part.
While we were going up the hill Bobby kept saying is this it? Is this the hill? I said yes. LOL. It wasn't and he got mad at me.
Each time we went up I said Oh this is it Bobby! Brace yourself!! LOL never was it. So when it was actually time I don't know if he believed me but I said really Bobby this is it. Here is a pic of him going up the hill.
He screamed down the hill like a little girl and I loved it!!
That was the best. After that we did some more rides and went back to the room for dinner. We just did the food court again instead of going to our reservatino at the Living Seas. We were very tired. I hated that about this trip but I guess weddings do that to you. So ends day 8 of our honeymoon.
Only one full day left before we go home.
Up next Honeymoon Day 9!
