Tanya & Dan's VR DCL!!!Dec 4, 2009 MK & Epcot Photoshoot Pics Posted

awwwww..your flower girl dress is so cute! your flower bouquets turned out so well too!

Aww, thank you. I totally missed this comment! Sorry! It was inbetween me posting pics, and I completely overlooked it.
I have so much fun being creative! I enjoy making things - pictures, flowers, etc. I would do more if I had the time

I went dress shopping this week! I was so excited and nervous about it at the same time. I went to Sarasota since we had to go pick up my son's new glasses down there. I was hopping to go to the Maggie Sottero store in Ft. Myers, but never made it.

So I was totally nervous b/c three kids and 2 c-sections have left me with a big belly. I have a hard time getting clothes to fit. I am like a 14 on top and a 16 on bottom. My most recent experiences with my pageant dresses has been a fiasco, and I am surprised that I won my title in the dress that I did. (it fit horribly, even after alterations!)

The two bridal shops here in town don't carry samples in my sizes, so I would just have to try on a size 6 and then order one in my size! :rotfl2: It might go over one of my legs...

So off to Sarasota we go. The first bridal shop was like something out of a nightmare. Everything looked second hand and like it was from the 80's! It was all supposedly new. And they didn't have my size either.

The next shop was very upscale, and out of my price range, and out of my size.

By the time we got to the last shop, I was very frustrated and a complete nervous wreck. The place was nice, the staff was very friendly, and they had my sizes!!! They also carried a great selection including Maggie Sottero gowns.

I first tried on a couple of Maggie's in blue, since that is what I had my heart set on. The first one was a darker blue, and the fit was great. She knows how to make a dress! It hid all of my imperfections including my belly, and since it laced up in the back, I didn't have to worry about my top being too small. It was a really pretty dress, but it looked more like a prom dress on me. They didn't have the Estelle dress in for me to try on, so I tried on another light blue one, and it looked like a mother of the bride dress on me.

Then I tried on an Allure Bridals gown with the pick up skirt. It was gorgeous!!! I looked like Belle in it! Even my DH loved it, and he originally thought that the pickups make the dress look messy when we looked at it online. But in person, he loved it, and so did I.

I tried on another Allure gown that is the same one that DisneyBrideToni has!! It was very pretty too, but the one with the pick ups was the best yet.

I tried on another Maggie gown, and a few more that just looked down right awful on me. One of them made me look like a fat version of Glenda the Good Witch on the Wizard of Oz! :rotfl2: All I could think about was the Belle Dress!

I had never even really heard of Allure Bridals, but I so wanted the dress! I didn't order it that day, and came home and looked at other dresses online and other DISbrides and then I realize that both Kendra and Toni had them, and their dresses were beautiful.

I couldn't get the "Belle" dress out of my head, so I ordered it the next day! :cloud9:

congrats on getting the dress! Can't wait to see you in it!

Here are pictures of my dress from the web. I ordered it in ivory, and this first one is in white:

Here it is in ivory-

My DH doesn't know that I ordered it yet! I am going to have to tell him soon before he looks at our bank statement! :lmao:

I actually got a great deal on it. I believe that this is a style that is being discontinued, so the bridal shop had a new one in my size that has never been tried on or anything, but they needed to clear out inventory for new styles, so I got over 60% off on it!

I also ordered my DD another dress since hers is white and I got an ivory gown. For some reason my DH doesn't like her dress having spaghetti straps on it. We went round and round about this. He asked me to sell it on Ebay. Well now, I am going to have to do something with it, since it is white and my gown is ivory.

I decided to order her a dress with pickups on the skirt too since we will match. I didn't think that I would like this style on her either, but it looked really pretty when she tried it on. So I got hers in pale blue - that way I still get A BLUE DRESS!!! :rotfl: Plus it really makes her blue eyes pop!

I'll have to look and see if I can get pictures of it.

Here are some of my other purchases:

I am going to use them as decoration by my cake table.

This is a cute little purse.

Ok - I have lots of updates, but no time to write about them! I just had to do my continuing ed and renew my Real Estate license on top of everything else.
Here is the most exciting news! My DD got a new flower girl dress, since the one I had for her was white, and my gown is ivory. Since I didn't get a blue gown, we decided to get her a blue one. It is gorgeous!!! So much better than the first one. We got her a pickup skirt to go with mine as well.

I have done so much in the past week - I don't even know where to begin!
I paid for the remaining balance on the cruise!:woohoo:
I also paid for the majority of my VR! :woohoo:
I sent my packet into Cathy - I chose the standard bouquet with pale pink roses. I am adding Mickey crystals and a pale pink rose wand for my DD, as well as rose petals for the aisle. I think that I might add another 2 arrangements for decor - but that is still up in the air.
I chose the standard square cake - and I am going to leave it all white and stop fighting about it! Some hidden mickeys on it would be nice though...:rotfl:

Our ceremony music is all Disney - and I will post it all later!

I also booked our MK castle photo shoot! It is on Dec. 9th at 6am. I requested Amy for our photographer, with Ty as a backup!! I have not paid for that one yet - they do not charge credit cards until the day after the shoot. So hopefully I won't spend it on something else!

I ordered a Mickey crystal necklace from ebay. I'll have to post some pics in a little while.

We also went to DownTown Disney and I got a pair of bride mouse ears :earsgirl: , as well as a Mickey pin for my DS to wear on his jacket lapel for the wedding. I wanted the top hat groom ears, but they didn't have any in stock at that location. I also wanted to get rhinestone hidden mickey hair clips/barrettes, but they didn't have those either! :sad2:

I also made a tiara for myself - since the one in the bridal shop was $200!!! :scared1:

Mine is made with jewelry wire, real freshwater pearls, glass pearls, silver glass beads, and swavorski crystals. I even put a little hidden mickey at the top! It was really hard and time consuming - I totally understand the crazy charges for them now, but totally worth it!

:rotfl: Gee, thanks for making up my mind about wether or not to do the MK photo shoot! that was the date i wanted! :rotfl:

Your dd is so cute in her blue dress!! I love it!

WOW you sent your choices in already?? Man i haven't finalized anything yet!! :rotfl: you're way ahead of me!

LOL! Well the 5 am slot is still open... you should totally do the photo shoot! It is like a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am so excited about it, but worried, since we still have to figure out the actual logistics of babysitters, hair, driving, hotels, etc.

Also, the only reason that I sent my package in was b/c I change my mind like a million times. So I figured if I picked what I wanted and sent it in, I might actually be able to stick to it. I hope! :rolleyes1

I love the idea of the boat in the moat restaurant. It looks so cool!

Thanks! I think it looks like fun. We don't have a lot of options where we live, and I don't want to do a boring banquet hall. Plus it's fun to say "boat in the moat"! :lmao:

Ok ladies - here is my dress! I have no idea why, but the bridal shop would not let me take any pictures in their store. So here it is at home - with a sheet on the floor below me-

These are like the worst pics of me - no makeup, hair not fixed - but I couldn't wait to try it on! It fits pretty well! I'll only need minor alterations, and like a foot chopped off of the bottom! (I'm really short!)

It's staying at my house until it's time for alterations - the bridal shop would have charged me to store it.
Also, here is my tiara I made. It has a hidden Mickey on the top.

Thanks for letting me share my excitement!

Here is my necklace! I saw some other DISbrides with it in their PJ, and I had to steal the idea! It is too cute! Now - off to look for earrings that will match that and my tiara...

Wow, your dress is gorgeous. You will look like a princess on your wedding day!
Your daughter looks adorable in her dress too.
I just finished reading most of your PJ. I vote for having the reception at the Boat in the Moat too. Soloman's castle is such a unique place.

wow your dress is beautiful! you look so happy and pretty in it!!

You made the tiara?!?!!? WOW Crafty much?? :rotfl: I couldn't even begin to THINK how to make one, let alone actually do it!!

Soo.....is there a cancellation policy with the MK shoot?? They dont' charge you until the day after the shoot, right??

They didn't mention any cancellation policy to me! I would go for it if I were you.
And yes, I used to craft a lot!! But now with the kids, I don't have much of a chance. This took me literally a week or so to make! It was really easy - just time consuming - it's a lot of wire twisted together.
I think that I am going to try to make my DD a necklace next!

Wow - my hair looks so bad in those dress pictures! I had to redeem myself with a better picture. I have let it grow since Dec. and it is back to a bob. My good friend Lee does hair, so I trade her pictures for hair, and she highlighted it today. I absolutely love it!!!
tanya0662.jpg

Look how much it's grown! I think that I am going to leave it like this, and not let it get much longer. She was showing me how I can pull the front up and make the back poofy, so I don't have to fight with long hair. Bless her!

Now to try the dress on again...:rotfl2:
