Just wanted to say CONGRATS to everyone who ran this morning!!! Maura and I were cheering from the bus stop area right before you went into Epcot for the final mile. I cheered until the last lady came through with about 6 bikes right behind her and then walked over to the 13 mile sign and cheered again until I saw the same lady with the same 6 bikes come through. Putting the Princess 1/2 on my list for next year!!

Maura and Suzanne thank you so much for cheering!!! When i turned the corner and heard WISH being yelled out i cracked into the biggest smile ever. Just like i did the other 3 time i saw WISH cheerers. I hope you saw how much i appreciated it from my waving and grins, but if not THANK YOU!

Finished in 1hr 56mins so i broke 2 hours whoop. Will come back and post properly either later in week or on sunday when get back to the UK. It was great meeting some of you and i'm so proud to have been able to wear a WISH shirt

Thanks for all the support. I made it through the 5K and the Princess Half. I'm happy with my times. I was under 14 minute miles for the 5K and at 14.12 for the Princess Half. I was shooting for 15 minute miles so I was quite happy with that.

I'm so sorry that I missed the POR meet. My sinuses started bothering me on Friday and totally wiped me out over the week-end. I was worried I wouldn't be able to run on Sunday. I slept for 4 hours after the 5K. We made it to POR around 6pm. I wouldn't have been very good company anyway.

It was great meeting those of you that I caught up with. Diane, once again I want to thank you for starting me on this journey. It was a wonderful ride.

I am home. It was a wonderful experience. I was so proud of myself. I ran most of the 13 miles and would have finished faster if I didnt have to take potty breaks. I saw Matt on the overpass headed back to Epcot and it was a big boost! Thanks to everyone who cheered it really meant a lot.

suzannews I saw you and immediately thought of Bon Jovi:rotfl:

I finished with a time I am happy with and was pretty much what I figured. I saw the last lady come across the finished line as we were heading out. I am sore today but I think I am going to sign up for it again!

A monday Hello to all the WISH Princesses............... (& Matt too)

It was a fun day yesterday & I saw a lot of Wish'ers from a distance while riding around in circles.......

I still have a ton of fun riding around the MK on my bike before the gates are opened. That "Entire course access" medical pass has a couple of benefits & that is one.

It was cooler in Orlando than it was in St Augustine when I headed down, so I was really chilly riding around in shorts & a t-shirt, esp. when going really quickly down World Drive.

Fortunately no one got really sick or worn out. I DID have to "escort" one woman across the finish line. She was not feeling well, wheezing, and was seen falling down twice in the last mile. But she WAS going to finish, so I made her a deal: "You walk across the line & go straight to the Med tent & I will get your medal & bring it to you". She did, I did & she was fine in a little while.

And I rode about 22 miles during the race to boot.

JimB You guys do a great job, I had a guy called Chris who was a medic escort me from the MK to Epcot and he was from St. Augustine too.
If you know him please say hi and thank you to him from me.

I'm back, too. I haven't yet looked at the posted scores, but I felt really happy with my time on Sunday. It was lovely meeting so many of you.
The last time I saw Angie she was bandaging a blister. Are you OK Angie?

I only ended with one blister on my foot, I'm not whining (Tracy), just pleased that, that seems my only casualty of my first Half Marathon. I have some pics, and will post them, soon.

Matt was a fantastic cheerleader, wasn't he!:cheer2:

Hello all WISH princesses....

Glad to meet everyone at the WISH meet new and old!!

Everyone seemed to have a great weekend and did good with their individuals races!!

Not sure if I posted the photo from the meet, but here you go...

Props to CHESTER for getting up around 2:30amand driving over to CHEER for the Half!!
Props to JIM for doing the paramedic bike thing - saw him at MK in frontierland and yelled at him and said "Go Walt's Warriors!"
Props to ANNE for standing outside the GF Cheering for everyone wearing her backpack on her front!!
Props to MATT "the official cheerleader dude" for finishing the half and going back to the overpass to CHEER!! You are WISH!!
Props to MAURA and SUZANNE for cheering at the EPCOT bus parking lot!!

I LOVE all the WISHers who went out of their way to come and cheer!! YOU ALL ROCK and are the best part of being WISHers!!

I enjoyed the weekend, the race was pretty good, but just did about the same route in Jan, so that part was kinda boring. I PR the course and did my BEST time overall with a SUB 3 hour with a chip time of 2hr 55min 55sec!

Tracy:

I am glad that you did well at the race. DD and I did the princess half, my first half and her first half. She did the full marathon in January. We have a question for you, since you did the half in January. How did the Princess half compare to the half in January in terms of support, crowds, bands, atmosphere and fun. We really enjoyed the camaraderie of the women and wondered how the whole feel compared to the half in January. Thanks for the thoughts about this.

Hi, I posted my pros and cons on another thread that some one put up wanting to know the differences between them.

The lower crowds were kind nice, but I did have some moments as a walker where I was kinda by myself. The Jan is just a bigger event overall, more crowds, more cheering! There are a few more bands (marching bands) there was not Guitar group - sorry but that was just not inspirational at all! Also the most inspirational part of the Half and Full is the gospel choir right at the end when you go back stage at EPCOT heading towards the finish line. The princess had a saxophone band, the choir is just so much better. Also like the fact that transportation is for ALL resorts to the races and the EXPO. Princess had more characters out on the road and had that Japanese drummer group which was cool.

I will keep doing the Jan race and may alternate the Princess.

Syko -

Chris is a battalion chief from my department. Really great guy who spends most of his off duty time biking his butt off.

I'll pass on your good wishes to him......... :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

PS - I tagged along behind the both of you going through the MK. I must say, with all respect and humility, that you really haul a$$!!

I saw you and yelled, but you were busy escorting a lady up that last finish shute! I was impressed with the two of you helping her make that final push! I figured she must be hurting if she had the two of you riding along with her. Thanks for all you did!

hey all i made it back to NC and im back to work... though i cant walk up and down stairs quite yet!
i had a great time at the 5k and the Half.
my time for the half was 2:25 which was better then i hoped for, for my first half!
i was so happy to get that medal!!
Overall i had a blast! Again I am QUITE Sore!!!
but after a couple days rest, yes i will do it again next year!!!
thank you all for your help and support during training!!!

It was a lot of fun!! I didn't go to the meet up but I did see quite a few of the princess mickey heads on the course. I spoke with a few of them/you. Thank you to the lady who screamed "Wish" at me at the finish line!! That was wonderful! My family couldn't be there so it wonderful to have someone cheer for me specifically!! Thank you!!!

This was my first 1/2 and I didn't have a goal other than just getting my medal. LOL I did make it fast enought to be able to stop at almost every character. YEAH!!! I was just excited that I never saw a sweeper! I thought for sure I would be swept!

I never posted much here but I read it almost daily. Thank you for all the inspiration, experience, and tips!!!

As soon as I finished I got my medal engraved and went to the rails to shout to all the WISHes comming in.
I'm glad I saw you and sorry to anyone that I missed, hopefully I gave the ones I missed a shout out on world dirve.
I hope that you are going to enter more races and post on the WISH boards.

I thought that might have been you!! Thank you!! It was wonderful to have someone cheering for me/us!! At that point I was saving my last bit of strenght to run across the finish. LOL

Congratulations to all!! and thank you for sharing your stories!!

Love the inspiration that comes from reading about the race!!

:cheer2: GO WISH TEAM! :cheer2:

Hey Syko! You saw me and I called you out by name. It was great. Having the various WISH people cheering you on, REALLY was inspiring (& Matt always made me laugh).

I did not know though, that I could get the back of my medal engraved. Darn. Where were they doing that?

I'll be doing it next year, too, and my DH wants to do the Donald with me in January.

Thank you to all for everything. My thanks to you is meaningful and sincere.

-Donna

have to get back to work! LOL

But a quick look at the posts and I see I missed JIM!!! Yet again! I have got to meet you one of these days in person!!! Well glad I didn't need the service but I still want to say Hi in person :thumbsup2 Thanks as always for your support along the course. You know how much we appreciate all of you watching over us :goodvibes

Syko: I saw you at the finish line and called out to you. Congrats on your awesome finish and thanks for hanging around all that time to cheer on the back-of-the-pack crowd! I've had better races, but it was still an awesome experience!

It was great to reconnect with old WISH buddies and meet so many new ones!

I missed Jim too - I hope to never need his services though. We are grateful that he is there providing the services that he does.

I definately saw Syko go flying by the other way as I was going past the speedway. You go girl - you were flying. I heard you yell out Go WISH so I thought to myself - that had to be Syko. I didn't have on the WISH shirt but did have on pink (because no one else thought to wear that color - LOL) I had the green mickey head on the front but it wasn't that easy to see from a distance.

Matt - you are just too fast for my mind to put together - hey that's Matt - to having the words come out my mouth. I am sorry I didn't say hi to you as you flew past me on World Drive just before the overpass. I didn't see you after that when you were on the overpass to cheer people on probably I either finished before you could get back out to there or at that point I wasn't really paying attention to much around me - LOL. You aren't hard to spot though with the hat and Mickey hands. Thanks for doing what you do for the WISH team.
