DDA Chapter 5

Thanks Vicki! I'm thinking of Blackbird for me and my dad, except sung by Sarah McLachlan. Cutting the cake to When I'm Sixty Four. Last dance Hello Goodbye and the wedding party and family (do they get introduced??) to All you Need is Love. (Too much Beatles??) :teeth: I think it'll be spaced out just fine though...it's not like it'll be one Beatles tune after another...

I, for one, don't think any of your choices are too much or over the top! I love them all! My DD Kristin would applaud you. BTW, if you need any other assistance in choosing Beatles' songs, let her know... she knows them all! :rotfl:

I was going to suggest adding a ruffle to the bottom, but I don't think you could since the bottom becomes the back :confused3

I was thinking the same thing, Deb and Bernadette. If you started the ruffle at the shoulder seam at the top and took it all the way around from there it might work. maybe? :confused3

Deb - you all got lots done yesterday. I can't wait to see all your pictures of the finished projects!

Our next door neighbor moved today.:sad1: She was so nice to the kids and the kids are going to miss her dog so much. Now the Grandma to the anatomy artist will be back in May. We love Grandma but could do without her DGD.:scared1:

Sorry you are all losing your neighbor.... those pictures are precious, though! :goodvibes

I want to cry! POTC is closed from June 5 - June 18. I so wanted my niece & nephew to see this. I have to make sure I let them know so that they aren't disappointed when we get there. Why are they closing such an important ride just as school gets out across the country? :confused3 Normally closures wouldn't bother me but this was one of the main things I wanted to show the kids. I'm hoping I didn't talk it up too much!

How disappointing! :(

Thanks for mentioning Avast. My virus protection expires in a few weeks. :teeth:

Don't laugh when I say this...but since you got confirmed for early dining, some people will "double book" their dinners. Eat just soup/salad at early dinner, then book a late dinner at Palo and "eat" then. Just a suggestion!

I have a Canon Powershot. But I'm odd in the fact that I like a camera that has substance - something I can hold. This camera takes four AA batteries - and you can hold it comfortably in one hand. It takes great photos, gives you basic plus different settings as well as panoramic shots. There are many versions out now based on pixel size and year of production. Takes SD memory cards though...not sure what your Nikon takes.

You have to be awfully hungry to double book.... the food doesn't stop coming at Palo! But YUM! :cloud9:

I think Fuji and Olympus are the only things that use the XD cards, so you should be safe, Jen! I like the some of the Powershots, and the Fuji Finepix.

Prayers needed for my 24 year old cousin. She has some kind of cancer. My uncle doesn't know what kind. It is female related. Her younger sister died a couple of years ago from kidney failure. She had a kidney transplant and was better for many years but then had a relapse. She died when she was 19 or 20. So sad! My 24 year old cousin has a son. I sure hope she is able to fight whatever it is she has.

How tragic for that family :( I will keep them in my prayers!

Good night, DDA! I call for ADRs in the morning! :)

Good luck! :wizard:

Bob and I are creating our DJ song list for the wedding. What does everyone think of this for a mother/son dance for Bob and his mom? We are going with a Beatles theme (well, except for our wedding song) and this is one we can't decide on...does it sound too "relationship-e"?

There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never ever lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

"In my Life" is one of my all-time favorite Beatles songs! :thumbsup2 We made a tribute for our senior class to that.... I definitely don't consider it too "relationshipy" :)

LOVE IT! :teeth:

Cute pictures, Karen!

I promise to try to catch up tomorrow. But I had to share my exciting news. I just got the email confirming we scored tickets to the Disney Channel Games Concert on our last night with the Jonas Bros and the Cheetah Girls. The kids are going to flip out when I tell them while we're at Disney. What a surprise!

Aagh, how exciting! I like your new signature.... and I can't wait to hear about the kids' reaction to the Games! :goodvibes

Well, it's back to work. 33 days....

Good morning, DDA! I haven't had time to read lately, so I have a lot of catching up to do. I need to get the older kids out the door, and then I will have a couple of minutes to start reading backwards.

We have a field trip at preschool this morning, and I'm glad that it's not outside, because the weather is yucky! I hate to admit it, but I was hoping for a delay this morning. The temperature stayed above freezing for most of the area, though, so we are primarily getting rain, not the predicted freezing rain.

Be back in a little bit!

Beth

Vicki,
I am very sorry about your cousin. Prayers for your family.

Chanon,
I like the song & your other choices .no its not too relationship-y.:) I like your choice for "when I am 64" for the cake cutting.:goodvibes

Dana danced with his mom to "Thank God for kids" I think by the Oakridge Boys? Everyone was crying.

I danced with my Uncle to "To Sir with Love" & everyone was crying to that too. (especially the part where it says "How do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume?") Ouch.:sad1:

The older two are out the door, but the little guy decided on toast and eggs for breakfast. Maybe I won't get those couple of minutes right now after all.

I have a few errands (including grocery shopping) for after preschool today, and I have to pick up Miles and Laura early for an orthodontist appointment. Miles has to go, because I will be there after his school dismissal and have no one to watch him today. The appointment is actually only for Laura. Then there is pick up from track practice, synchro, and regular swim tonight. Long story short, maybe tomorrow, DDA! :) I'll see how quickly I can get the shopping done today, and I might be able to sneak in a few minutes. :thumbsup2

Take care, everyone! Have a great day! :goodvibes

Beth

I hope your day isn't as hectic as it sounds, Beth!

How exciting! I know nothing about this, details please.

Sounds like it was another busy day in your house!

I had to get my perm redone Saturday, the 1st one just did not take. I have never had that happen before. Hopefully this will one will last.

It's been a very long day. We had hoped to sand the ceiling/walls today, but the durabond was still not dry (it isn't looking hopeful for tomorrow either). We decided to switch plans completely and put down some flooring. We had to start in the hall in front of our room because we needed to connect to our flooring. Hunter's room is next to ours so out came ALL of his furniture. We managed to get the entire room floored and I have all the baseboard trim cut and painted. Tomorrow Dad will help me install the baseboards and we can reload the room. This time for good. We also painted the ceiling, but I need to do a bit of touch up where my Dad painted. He seemed to miss some big spots. So we started at 9 AM and I finally put my paintbrush down at 11:30 PM. We really accomplished a lot and I feel good about that. We also got haircuts, well actually I got a perm. I'm trying to grow it out a bit so I needed the perm to get me through the ackward phase.

Now I'm going to sleep. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
