Well we are done with our stuff at the house, and getting ready to head over to my brothers for their egg hunt. Then I am off to work! Yes, that is right I have to work today. But its time and a half so that is a plus right?! We are having an Easter party at the group home so it will be fun.

Here are a few pictures from this morning , and Georgia in her dress (the one I hated) that she LOOOOOVES so much!

The girls dyed eggs last night....and here they are on the way to becoming lunch! :scared1: (the eggs that is...)

IMGP5167.jpg

And our Egg Hunt yesterday and today. Both days it was freezing cold out (38 degrees out  ):

I forgot to say that we had a treasure hunt inside too since it was so stinkin cold out. Looks like the Easter Bunny shopped at the croc store. DD9 took here pair to her room already. Here is DD3 in the treasure box....hahaha

Every year we always get a pic of the girls eating their bunnies...

And one final pic which kinda sums up the Easter Basket....

Those are all nice pictures and again I like the dress. So that means that Georgia has great taste. :rotfl:

So, I'm not 100% finished yet but here is my 1st dress! Yay! I fell in love with this fabric at the store and had to get it. As some of you may remember I had started a dress with a butterick pattern and some pretty brown and pink fabric. Well, I decided to put that one on the backburner. It was a little too complicated for a beginner and for my 1st dress. I got this pattern off ycmt.com. It's the new perfect dress pattern. As you can probably see from my pictures, the gathering is kind of loose in the front on one side and it's really bothering me. I've been trying to fix it but I can't get it to stay. The thread broke so I tried to stitch in between but it's not staying. I feel like if I were to fix that gathering I'd have to undo so much and I don't wanna...haha...But I'm a perfectionist and looking at it is bothering me. Maybe it'll look different once Violette puts it on and I topstitch it. Anyone have any suggestions for fixing it without taking the whole thing apart?

You did a great job!!!! This is really cute. =)

I have had this in my head to make for awhile and finally sat now to make it today. (For some reason it look HUGE in the picture). It is not finished, I still have to finish the face and sew the straps on. But here is the "Thing" outfit.

I LOVE this!

I found fusible fleece by the interfacing by the cutting table at JoAnn's. What I can't find is tracing paper at either JoAnn's or WalMart. At JoAnn's they have never heard of it and good luck trying to find someone to ask at WalMart. I am trying to decide if it worth it to drive into Tampa and look at Hancocks.

Happy Easter everyone! :grouphug:

At my Joanns, they have tracing paper on the notions wall that they sell by the package. They also have them by the yard along with the interfacing/stabilizer. They look just like stabilizer but maybe thinner, and it's called "Easy Pattern" and made by Pellon. It's $1.99 per yard but it was 50% off when I was there Friday.

I've had a devastating morning!!! See this dress?

I made it last fall, and it still fits, but shorter. Only worn once. It was announced to me this morning that she looks like a fool!!!

I had to promise, no more Disney outfits except when we go to Disney!! Can you believe that!! I promised when she comes home, we can take the dress off and give it to my neice. (my sister has a "store" in her attic of multi sizes for her 2yo).

At least I can still Disney sew for my little niece. She'll love her princess dressses!!

Oh gosh...I've heard that before!!! Just before Christmas this year my step daughter was attempting to put on a dress that her mother had sent for her to wear to a Christmas party later that evening. It was her Christmas dress from last year that had been extremely pricey...when we finally wrestled her into it, the arms were nearly to her elbows and the buttons barely buttoned up the front! She took one look in the mirror and said "I look RIDICULOUS! If I wear this in public I'll be HUMILIATED!":rotfl2: Wow...big words for an 8 year old!

I love the dress on your DD though! It's a lovely color!!

I think this is the last year my step daughter will wear what I put out without question. She's very into fashion lately and has started developing OPINIONS!:scared1: ;)

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!:goodvibes

So I'm not crazy about what I ended up doing for Easter either. Isn't it so disapointing when you get a picture of something in yur mind, but it turns out not so cute?

Just for fun. Here are Riley and Drew with my nieces at the Plaza Friday. They have all of these fun Easter Bunnies that they have been putting out since the 30's. It was cold and we were underdressed, so this is the only picture I got of the day.

Beautiful Easter outfit!

Wow..that's early! I crawled out of bed this morning at 6am, to try and get to church for the 8:30am service, and I am tired!! We normally go to the 10am service. Anyway, looks like the kids had lots of fun!

The dress look really cute, and looks that a really fun Easter Egg Hunt.

That looks really cute!! I really like it...! I have had much better luck with more even gathering since I bought my ruffler foot.

Oh I feel your pain. :goodvibes I got that message from Zoe last summer and it was hard to hear. I can still make things for her but nothing too "fancy". Since she said OK to special outfits for Disneyland, I'm taking advantage of that but still trying to stay on the simple side so no twirl skirts or princess dresses. :sad1: I am worried that if she gets too much attention from strangers that she'll refuse to wear the other sets the rest of the trip. That means I'll have to make sure to "forget" to pack plain clothes. :rolleyes1

Just a quick photo before we head out to church!
Easter20080021.jpg

Very cute! I love gloves, hats and purses on little girls. I always wanted them when I was little but with 5 kids in the family, accessories were not a priority. LOL

Love seeing all of the pictures! We went last June for my daughter's make a wish trip and my niece went with us. i went CRAZY for the customs. I made almost none of it myself - but I did paint some shoes and a few shirts. I swear we got compliments on their outfits every 5 minutes or so.

Looks like the girls had a great time and looked great while doing so. :)

Just a few quick pics of what my kiddos wore today :)

I made Gabi a dress from the Hobby Lobby fabric and added some mickey ears fabric. I really like how this one turned out.

Cam's outfit was store bought due to a fiasco involving a VERY ugly shirt that I quit on about halfway through. Oh well, there's always the next holiday to not suck at making things for him

The pool was like 60 degrees today: crazy kid!

I'm actually coming into SLC next Saturday, but only staying for the weekend. Little Henry is being Blessed on Sunday. I have no doubt that I will be back! And when I am.....I'm all yours! I really love organizing and seeing the end result. To me, it is FUN!
Uh HUH!!!! You know we'd make it worth your while if you have a little extra time. BUT, Riley's baptism is this upcoming Saturday.

Promise your Utah home-girls you'll tack on a day to spend with US next time!!!

We could go to Material Girls :flower3: or the Quilted Bear or just hang out...I'll volunteer Jhammie or Sugarbeez houses

Such a friend you are.... volunteering everyone else's house! LOL!!:rotfl: I say we all gather at Jhammie's- that way we can ALL organize her craft room! And I really wanna go to this Material Girls (that is a fabric place -right??)- been to Quilted Bear- love it, but done it and with limited time... well, you know.

I have a plan to be in Vegas sometime in April I think, maybe I can tack a day on to SLC? Don't know- but I'll look into it.

WE REALLY DO HAVE TO GET TOGETHER SOMETIME! This is killing me!

Well, church with Aunt Angi must have gone well and she got lots of compliments. When she got home, I asked her to take the dress off so when we got to Aunt Tricia's, we could give Lexi the dress. And she got mad because it was her dress! :headache:

I guess the end is here. She's 7 now, and more into Hannah Montana. She won't put the knit pants on anymore either, becuase they make her look like a fool also. We have to have jeans now. (which don't ever cover up her butt, no matter the size). But she does love twirly. Anything for attention. She loves to be on stage for ballet and have people applaud.

I think I'll go work on the Cinderella dress for a 2 year old!

ACK! All this talk about girls growing up and getting picky and opinionated has me scared! Norah is 3 1/2 and tells every one with pride, "My MOM made this dress for me!" :cutie: The day that ends will break my heart!

I have stuff to post later: Easter dress, my new super fun shabby chic chair for my sewing room, the Hobby Lobby dress with the SAME fabric as Laura's  I love when I'm on the same page as one of you guys! But, DH, my tech geek, is with his daughter watching the Enchanted DVD the Easter Bunny brought her.

I was at hobby lobby the other day and I was actually looking at both those fabrics! I wasn't thinking of putting them together. That's adorable. I really love that paisley. I really want to pick that up next time I go. It's such a fun summery print.

Cute stuff this morning!

I had a very bad start to my day, but it got better. I thought I had tried on the girl's Easter dresses, really I did. But, they put them on & :scared1: They were sooooo low in the front!!! I don't know how that happened, but I finally decided that I could use some of the scraps of fabric & make a little panel to put in front & they'd be ok. But then I couldn't find the fabric. I dug through all of my fabric hiding places at least 3times & finally gave up & decided I HAD to go get myself realy for church. I finished getting ready & then dug through everything 1 more time 'cause I knew I had more of the fabric somewhere. I found it this time & a few cuts, 2 seams, a tine bit of ironing & 4 safety pins later they were decent for church. I'll have to hand sew the panels in later, but it worked for today.

This is the before while digging through Easter baskets.

This is the only pic I got of all 3 of us in our matching Easter outfits. Neither girl would cooperate with pics so I gave up & we went to the in-laws for lunch & egg hunting. On the way home, dd4 is all upset because we didn't get any pictures at home. :headache:

What a resourceful & quick seamstress you are! The panels are perfect! :thumbsup2

Did you make your dress also? It's pretty, nice spring colors in all of them.

I sympathize with ya on wranglin' the youngins for photos. My ds's were not cooperating with me today either! I just wanted one photo of them together in the madras I made them. No go, they either were strangling each other or running off in every photo! Ugggh!:headache:
