FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

We leave Wednesday, and at 2 am this morning, my ds12 is throwing up!:scared1: Poor kid, but I am freaking out just a little. After cleaning everthing up and getting him back to bed, I'm laying in bed, thinking "Oh, is that a tummy ache I feel? Oh no!" Then my DH says the same thing out loud! I'm thinking, no, it's just phychosymatic(sp?). DS sleeps through the rest of the night, but then at 6 he's on the toilet for, well, you know. :scared: Great! I am Lysollling the bleep out of his bathroom, have pretty much confined him to his room (moved a small tv in there to entertain him) and hoping for the best. He says he is very hungry now, which I think is good sign.Oh, I hope the rest of us don't get sick, and I hope he's done with it. He says he feels fine, just hungry. He wants donuts, so DH went out to get some. Send soem pixie dut our way, please! :sad1:

Oh no!! Hope it's all over with

Checking the weather and I'm only seeing rain for Sun, 2/3 (60% chance). Do you know if they would cancel Fantasmic--cause that's my plan that nite (got the package at H&V :thumbsup2 )

6 days and both my boys are super sick. ARRRGGGH! Have them on Zicam, Robitussin, Advil, flonase, the nebulizer (they have asthma), all their meds... will probably end up at the doctor by Wednesday. We fly out Sat am. I hope all of us on this thread get well before our trips.

Guess what????????

My neighbors dachsund had a litter of pups 5 and a half weeks ago and they are GIVING us one!!! We have a doxie that is 2 and a half and we love him to pieces! I have been saying I'd love another one b/c this dog fits us to a tee. I was a cat person and cannot have them due to DH and kids allergies to them and so we got our chocolate doxie and I am absolutely in love. When our neighbors offered us one we had little reservation-only that our #1 won't be too bent out of shape!! I think he will eventually be happy about it though-hoping.... Gosh, it is like having another child, wondering if kid #1 will be happy about kid #2!!
My kids do not know and won't until we get back from our trip. Gotta figure out a name. Or at least ideas to give to the kids for a name. In the end it will be a family decision.
Our #1 doxie is Hershey-he's a mini chocolate doxie. Sweet as a Hershey Kiss. Sleeps with us nightly. Spoiled ROTTEN. Another chocolate name doesn't seem to fit even though I'd like thier names to have a connection-but it may not end up like that. May be a Disney related name???

Okay off the subject...

Back on...
I am not going to be done packing until the last minute. We have BIL's funeral Tuesday. Tomorrow is errands for the after funeral family get together and I am trying to lump it with vacation last minute groceries too. Car going in in the morning. Wednesday packing. No idea what to wear to the funeral-no idea.

I wanted to do school but even DH said to me, "Did you REALLY think you'd get school done this week?" Well, yeah:confused: , but the BIL's sudden death kinda put life into perspective. I am taking JESUS along on this trip with me!!:rotfl: Now all our plans to get packed early are kind'a out the window. Thankfully the kids are mostly packed. The van is still a mess and laundry is not done yet:eek: -all the way. Taking a step at a time- and of course, I worked this past weekend and it was EXTRA busy so I got nothing productive done at home. DH has been running like a road runner too:laughing: !! Fixed the broken attic door, cleaned the bathrooms, took care of the kiddos.

Ramblin'-sorry-late-tired but can't sleep.

Have fun and be careful ya'll!! Can't wait to get there and not look at my car for a few days!!

Well, obviously I'm not a weather forecaster :lmao: but we have been here since January 10 and we've been watching the forecasts each day to decide what to wear and bring. And I can say that the weather reports ALWAYS say there is at least a 10% chance of rain, even on the days that it is sunny, beautiful and HOT.

My best forecast is that weather in Orlando changes minute by minute! I have no clue how people around here figure it out....back home (Arizona) we have three types of weather....pleasant with no rain.....hot with no rain....or too hot for humans with still no rain. :rotfl2:

When we first arrived the temp was in the high 70's and even the low 80's...the forecast said rain was 30% for many days yet there was hardly a cloud in the sky and definitely no dark ones. Then this past few days it said 50 or 60% chance of rain and you still couldn't be sure! We went to the parks each day with ponchos ready for the worst...and on only one day did it actually rain on us, and that was more sprinkling and annoying (I need windshield wipers for my glasses) than "wet". DD insisted on her ponchos but the rest of us went without. But it was a bit cold, I actually wore my jacket (a very strange sight for me, as I rarely wear a jacket even at night). I think it was more the wind that got to me.

So, while I can't tell you the weather will be clear for your trips, I can say don't believe everything they predict! But be prepared for anything.

Gee, now wasn't this a wonderfully helpful post?

Good Morning. Come on all you Mardi Gras travelers, let's dance.

I started packing the kids last night. Now that the weekend is over and they wear uniforms to school they won't be needing much clothes.

I was fine until we reached the one week to go mark, now with friday on the horizon, every hour feels like two or three. Someone get me away from the clock.

There are so many of us going from Louisiana. The other day when my exterminator came I found out he and his family are going to Disney World at the same time as us. I also found out that my neighbor across the street is going to.
Yesterday when I was at Target I met up with someone I know. I was telling him that I was getting last minute things for our Disney World trip and a lady who overheard me said, "When are you going to disney world? We are going too. " Her family will be there for mardi gras also.

:dancer: party:

11days for me . Right now it's going fast and I have such a busy work schedule I think it will still go fast. I just want it to go slowly while I'm there

Please forgive me if this has already been mentioned before in this thread. I've been working alot lately so that I can vacation in peace at the end of this week and next week at Disney.

I've heard some rumors around my local area that Friday, February 8th is supposed to be "LSU Day" at Disney and that everyone should wear LSU gear on that day.

Have any of you heard this? Is the day I listed correct? Is this something official from Disney or do you think this is a "grass roots" kinda thing?

Just wondering. I would have thought that Mardi Gras (Tuesday) would have been a better day as some people from Louisiana may be leaving on the Friday (Feb 8th) to head back home.

Thanks,
Speed :teleport:
