I know what you mean. After we had a loss in the family, it took a long time before my mother would venture out. We went out for dinner, and the waiter was very patient and caring with my mother, and we were touched by his kindness. As we left I made it a point to take the waiter aside, personally thank him, and give him and additional generous tip. It was well worth it.It was kinda like the "paying it forward" thing for me...someone did something nice for me, so I did something nice in return. And they were so busy and the wait staff seemed frazzled to me. I also appreciated the fact that she noticed that my kids were well mannered and she felt compelled to comment to me about it....it was just a feel good moment all the away around!
