That is beautiful Tom. I definitely understand what you mean about the colors looking great under one kind of lighting but different under another. I'd say it's a close enough match that no one else will notice. Some colors seem much harder to match than others - like red.

One thought I had, though, was that it would look pretty with red roses instead (wasn't the Beast's rose red?). It would make the roses stand out. Another option is to get silk roses and make them into pins.

Alright Lisa, now that I have all the other roses almost done, you give the brilliant idea to use red! I might just have to make one, pin it on and see how it looks.

DD is 6. I don't normally let her out in public dressed like a ballerina, but since it wasn't cold outside I decided that this was a battle that wasn't worth fighting.

Okay, here's my Nemo outfit I made the other day. It is pretty much a CASE from someone on here (took me forever to find the little orange dots fabric) It may be forever before I get photos of her in it. I haven't even made bows yet and I can't decide what to do for pants/bottoms/leggings since it will likely be too chilly in DW to go bare-legged. I have a t-shirt from Wal-Mart that perfectly matches the lighter aqua blue color, but do they have the matching leggings? Of course not. Anyhow, I like how it turned out. I used 4 different Nemo fabrics, two non-Nemo, and the little iron-on Nemo on the bodice.

Beautiful! That orange dot really makes it POP! Love your fabric combinations!

Dallas turned 5 last thursday and I am now just getting around to the pictures to post. I also have christmas to post!

100_3873.jpg

Him with his stuff! I don't have a good one of him standing in his outfit, I'll have to remember to put it on and take a picture one day.

100_3881.jpg

This is what he does with every present! He shakes it to see if it is a lego.

100_3886.jpg

100_3912.jpg

Sorry it is not clear. I didn't realize it, took about a zillion pictures so I got a good one and picked a bad one to photobucket.

100_3902.jpg

This where my dorky-ness comes in, but Dallas loves little things like this. The plate for cake.

100_3918.jpg

Dorky decorations, I had penguins all over the house and he insists on leaving them hanging up!

100_3858-1.jpg

A cupcake I was fooling around with after I frosted the cake.

The two of us playing Elefun. He REALLY wanted it, but I refused to buy it, an aunt got it for him since I told her. I guess I am not a good mommy. I just think it is so pointless, but he loves it.

Ok, here it is!
IMG_3336.jpg

IMG_3337.jpg
WOW! That looks GREAT!
The best way to embroider any towel is to hoop sticky back stabilizer paper side up, once it is in the hoop score the paper a bit to take of the paper on the part inside the hoop exposing the "sticky" side. Stick the section you want to embroider on to the sticky side (wrong side of the towelto the sticky side) put the hoop on the machine. Then put a water soluable topping on the towel (pin this on in the corners away from where the needle will hit) This keeps the little toweling loops from poking out of the embroidery. Easy shameezey...Nana

Thanks Nana! Now, if you would just come over to my house and teach me how to use this machine that would be great!;)

I don't know why my camera is taking wonky picures.

Tom, I said to stop showing off!;) This is absolutely gorgeous! My DH just said "don't let DD4 see that, she will go nuts!"

While I was sewing DD took the time to dress herself up.
TH_CIMG0485.jpg

I ran out of thread while sewing and had to go to Wal-Mart. DD went to Wal-Mart dressed like this. Luckily is no longer cold outside.

Here is what I was making.

and another pic.

She is wearing the tiara that was in my hair when I got married. In the ballerina pic she is wearing a necklace that I got for Christmas. She is such a digger.

yOUR dd IS ADORABLE! mY DD4 IS always in some type of dress up clothes! Love the dress you made!

WOW! I REALLY like this! It turned out so cute!

I meant to quote you before, but it got all messed up! I hope you baby is doing better. I'm sorry to hear you had to take her to the emergency room. Try to get some rest yourself. And, here are some hugs for you and your little one.

Thank you! My pediatrician called this afternoon with test results and informed me she has aednovirus! It is a virus that infects all of your membranes! This is why she has an ear infection, pink eye, a sinus infection, and running very high fevers! Pretty scary considering there is NO meds for it. Just has to run its course! Her eye is so bad that she woke up this morning and it is black! She looks like she has been in a fight! Thanks for the hugs, she needs them! Sorry to ramble, but please if everyone doesn't mind saying a little prayer for her, I would really appreciate it! I'm hoping she heals quickly and my DD4 stays well as this virus is HIGHLY contagious!

I hope that your well baby stays well and the currently ill baby gets better super quick. I know how sick babies can be. So hugs for your DD's and you.

 Big hugs to your little girl!! My little man is suffering through an ear infection in both ears. I can't imagine adding everything else to it too!! Poor baby. She'll be in my prayers!!

WARNING... VENT AHEAD!!!
I can't believe that Disney doesn't have a 24 hour reservation number....What a pain...I've tried to make the ressie online, but it's giving me trouble too....so now I have to wait until the morning, when the kids are screaming, the other phone ringing, tele blaring, cat meowing...to try to hear well enough to book the room...AHHHHHHHHHH!!
Vent Over.

It's not a pattern. I used the peasant shirt link from your links and the apron was a copy of an old pattern that I saw online.

th_5467sp590.jpg

This is the pic that was online. I made it longer than what is on the pattern, but I need to shorten it some because it is longer than the dress.

It looks great! Isn't it fun to get an idea like that, and then pull it off!

Alright Lisa, now that I have all the other roses almost done, you give the brilliant idea to use red! I might just have to make one, pin it on and see how it looks.
I was thinking that red roses would look good with that as well.

You just never know what my kids will go out of the house dressed in! Arminda use to always wear a princess dress or some sort of leotard and tutu.

Dallas turned 5 last thursday and I am now just getting around to the pictures to post. I also have christmas to post!

I love it! The penguin plate is such a clever idea! I love the cake and little cupcake you made too! It looks like Dallas was loving it all! And, I see he did get some Legos!

I like the picture of you playing Elefun! The look on Dallas's face is priceless!

Not a good Mommy! You are nuts! Penguins everywhere, penguin plates, penguin outfit, penguin cake, all point to a different conclusion to me! What a lucky little boy you have. I'm sure he will forgive you for not loving Elefun! ;)

Is that a picture of you as a little girl up on the mantel?

Thank you! My pediatrician called this afternoon with test results and informed me she has aednovirus! It is a virus that infects all of your membranes! Oh no, Mindy! How bad for you and your babies! I hope it runs its course quickly and no one else gets it. I will be praying for your little girl and you. Is there anything they can give her to make her more comfortable at least? Poor baby, how horrible for you that you just have to wait it out too! I know how we mommies just always want to make things better for our babies.   Sorry to ramble, but I just feel so bad for you. Many prayers will be coming your way.

DH and I decided to go out to lunch today.

On the way there a tractor Trailer decided to pull out in front of me. He told the police officer he didn't see me. The officer gave him a ticket. I wasn't going very fast but.. .

Now my van is a mess. . .

Thankfully we are all okay.

Drive carefully girls there are some crazy people out there.
Oh No so sorry to hear about this- Hope you are both ok
Howdy everyone!
Looks like everyone has been busy. I had a semi rough day, but managed to do mini-makeovers on my girls tonight. They wanted me to post a picture. We are headed to see the mouse soon, so I managed to make the ugliest outfit I'd ever seen. I haven't completely scrapped it yet, but pretty close.
I hope the van driver is okay. What a horrible experience...I hope you are feeling better soon...
296648743.jpg
Your girls are so cute- looks like you guys had fun! I am looking forward to do makeovers with my dd- she is on;y 18 mo. now so it will be a little while.
Not quite sure how that happened but Sunday is her birthday. I "whipped" up this dress )over the course of the week) with fabric I had stashed away. I did learn how to put tulle ruffles under the top layer and now its fuller. With all of the layers and ruffles its actually heavy! I used leftover scraps to make the bow!!!

Sorry the pics are a little dark.....don't know why...dumb camera :snooty:

Its really late (or really early) so I gotta get some pics of her in it tomorrow! :goodvibes Good night sisters (and Tom)
That is great- it is my ds birthday in 2 weeks he will be 4!!! Already!!!
Heathersue - i just wanted to say that i love seeing pic of your little man, he reminds me so much of my ds. My sons name is Blake and he is 15 months old. You may disagree with me and think they look nothing alike, but i think its the hair and eyes that are simular. These 2 pics were taken on his 1st birthday on 11 sep 07, in the morning after he woke up.

Melissa

Your boy is a cutie-I like his longer hair. I am thinking of letting ds hair grow out a little- I have been trimming it on the back, sides and front but I am kinda liking it being longer- although my grams is having a fit and making comments every time we see her. :sad2: And I think he does resemble sawyer- they are both little cuties!!!

First of all- WOW, GREAT JOB!! And for some reason after the comments about changing the roses I got- "we're painting the roses red" stuck in my head and just wanted share it with all of you- No thanks necessary- "pardon me mister three why must you paint them red?"

We HAD elefun- but my little genius figured out how to take the nets apart so then of course the nets are now missing!! and trying to keep track of the butterflies :headache: I can understand why you didn't want to buy it!! Hope he had a fun time at the party!!

I am trying to come up with a cake design for ds BD cake- He is having a "cars" party but in the evening they are going to Monster Jam- So I was thinking of having a race track around the edges and having a "dirt" infield with some cars being driven on by a monster truck. So here is my questions- What should I use to make the race track and the dirt and what to separate the two?? What works best for dirt- colored frosting or brown sugar or cake or something else?? I have no idea what to make the race track out of!! Any suggestions appreciated!! :goodvibes There may be some practicing going on- I bet dh and the kids will "hate" that :lmao:
Good morning....

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! :goodvibes
We had a great day.....we all went to see Enchanted today....it was better than I expected and we all really enjoyed it! Every outfit she put on, we kept saying...now I have to sew this...or I want that one mommy....:rotfl:
Then we went out for DD's birthday dinner....yummy! Tomorrow we are having her Spongebob cake and presents! (Did you hear that Spongy???!!)
i will be over..:rotfl:

All of this embroidery machine talk is giving me a headache :rotfl: a) I'm jealous and b) I'm confused! :confused3
i second that comment

I bought some of this at Hobby Lobby a couple of months ago... my store had it on clearance for $2 a yard.
wow that is cool , unique fabric i have not seen that

okay mayson is asleep so i am heading there, will catch up tommorow it is 2:30 Am( wait it is tommorow :scared1: ):rotfl:

Great creations everyone!

Tom, Im one who thinks the red roses will just "POP" wonderfully. Awsome creation (again!)

Love the cake and cupcake, very nice. I also love the gift wrap, and cake plate and decorations. You did a super job.

Oh, I am so envious of those with embroidery machines. I would love to have one but there's no way it's in the budget for quite awhile.

Zoe and I saw that last week and loved it! I wasn't too optimistic so that probably helped but I was actually LOL for some parts... like the helpful rats, pigeons and rats. :lmao: I was cringing at the same time, though. ;)
:rotfl2: Everyone in the audience was laughing and cringing at the same time...especially at the cockroaches!:scared: :rotfl2:

Gorgeous! I like the roses as they are...but then again I am not a perfectionist!

Thank you. I think that I might redo the roses in the striped fabric. For some reason, to the eye, the colors match, but in different light, it doesn't.
From my past in the paint and wallpaper business, we called the term "metamorism". I guess I should have checked the colors in different light before I grabbed the dot out of my "stash" and went with it!.
Oh well... easily fixed!
darn I just call it bad lighting :rotfl:
Yeah!!!

We LOVED that movie!! I promised Lydia to make her a dress like the first one Giselle cuts out of the curtains (the tealish one). I have been desperately searching for fabric that will work, but can NOT find any anywhere! I was about in tears today from the frustration of it! Who knew it would be so hard to find??? I bought some, but then I realized it just isn't right at all, so I'll use it on something else. The search continues....
Yes I googled the movie and got some close up shots of the fabric. It appears to be Japanese inspired with beautiful flowers embroidered on the teal fabric. The under layers are like a cream chiffon. All VERY expensive I am sure. I say we need a ..... Road trip to NYC fabric district to find it!:cool1:

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! I really appreciate everyone on this thread! It's nice to have others to talk to that can understand where you are coming from! I, myself, had never heard of this, either! And unfortunately she can have NO otc meds because it can cause Reyes' syndrome(sp?) which is a life threatening illness!:scared1: She is having to just deal with it!:sad2: It's hard to see her so sick, I keep saying to my DH if I could just take the sickness away I would!

Good morning....

I would check out FamilyFun . com. They have a ton of cake ideas and give good directions how to make them. I'm pretty sure they have a race track one.

Does anyone have a castle picture? One like a coloring page that I could use for an applique?

Here's one that I got from the photobucket site. There was another one in there also but this one has the cleanest lines and I've seen it on some appliqued overalls.
