Bounceback Free DDP and Discounted Deluxe DDP Promotion

We returned from CSR on Tuesday and never received anything in the room, I was talking to someone at the pool who told me about the bounce back offer, so I went to the front desk to inquire and the CM knew nothing about it and gave me the # for disney travel and I was able to book it through them before 11 am on our check day, they told me I was supposed to get the notice put in our room, we skipped mousekeeping that day since we were in the room when she came we just took clean towels, I don't know if mousekeeping was leaving the notices but it would make sense instead of having other employees running room to room doing this. I was glad the woman at the pool told me about this or I would'nt have known till reading it on the disboards. :) Linda

We are checking in tonight and I plan to call first thing tomorrow, so i can let you knwo when we return on sunday. I am only boking if they let me do the dddp, otherwise, the regular plan just isnt worth it for us, not even free. I too agree with too much food, but since we have been there so much we figure it might be nice to spend three days going from restaurant to retaurant instead of ride to ride.. :rotfl: , may add a signature or just do 3 meals a day.
That's exactly how I feel. I only want to book it if I can get the deluxe plan. I do so many signature meals, that the deluxe plan is really the only value for me. I have the "free" DDP this trip, but next year it really won't be worth it without the appetizers and tips.

We will be arriving on 9 19 for 2 weeks. Can I ask when I check in to book the bounceback?
Some poeple return and don't even know it was offered, does it have to be offered to you?

I have already chosen the dates Starting the last friday of the promo and going for two weeks out. With the new rate changes during a stay does anyone know if you can still book the extra days on the free DDP if the offer ends during your stay and you pay the rest?

:goodvibes

Like others have said, just dial 8844 from your room--it's available to anyone staying in a WDW resort during those dates.

I haven't heard that WDW has made any changes as far as being able to keep a package as long as you check in by the last day the package has offered. I'm sure with the new rate structure you will have to pay the increased nightly rate once value season ends. But that would be true whether you were on free DDP, another discounted package or just standard rack rates.

ETA: By the way, pinkerbell, I LOVE your ticker. The credit card, the plane, the "ever expanding vacation"--I hear you loud and clear!

Ok, this bounceback is new to me. So...essentially you are "guaranteeing" your ability to participate in free dining next year? Just in case they don't offer that special, or if when they do you are unable to get the resort/room type you want??? Are there any financial plusses to it??? :teacher:

Thanks to all who respond.

You are booking free dining for fall 2008, simple as that.
The free dining is the financial plus. For people staying at values or moderates with 4 adults in the room it is the best discount they offer.

you are booking an actual vacation, you have the ability to make changes, but its not much different than you would do normally, they just are giving you free dining and almost a year to pay for it

Ugh! We just got back on the 4th and never heard anything about a bounce back promotion while we were there. Neither did the friends we were staying with. We were staying at POFQ. We had other friends staying over at Saratoga and they never heard anything either. :headache: Anybody ever have success booking after your stay?

Now I'm wondering if I should do an Annual Pass for upcoming trip? We have an 8 day trip planned for Sept 13-22, 2007. If we do another 8 day trip in Sept 2008 (say, Sept 3-12), it might start to make sense to go with an AP. We are in driving range, so we could probably even grab a long weekend or two during the winter or spring. Hmmmm...

Oh yes, please do, the more Dis see's our saving producing more revenue, IMHO, the more likely they are to keep offering this great deal!!

my selfishness aside, I really would go for it! If only we lived closer to Disney to grab a weekend trip. Oh to dream :cloud9:

If you are planning on going next year then YES definitely get an AP!! It will seem like a large chunk of money this trip, but will save you LOTS next year.:thumbsup2

Has anyone been able to book the deluxe dining plan at the discount mentioned?

I agree that it sounds like WAY too much food, but it might be fun to try for a few days of character and signature dining. :goodvibes Of course, after I got home I wouldn't be able to eat for a month! :rotfl2:

You almost sound like you are apologizing for wanting DDDP because so many people have whined about "too much food" on the DDP. I hope you don't feel guilty for wanting DDDP, I sure don't. It works for me, we can do all the shows and 2TS ressies we want. I hope to book with the discounted DDDP in 2 weeks.

We are looking at the same thing! Don't forget to consider that you will have to buy a MYW 1 day park hopper ticket for everyone in your room for the second trip ($116 p/p) to be able to get free dining even if you have annual passes... It does look like you could use them for the renewal on the annual pass..

We got the one day myw but its not a hopper.

Current price for an adult one day base ticket is $71 plus tax (~$75.62 total). We will be buying these, but won't need them because we'll have the annual passes. Of course we'll save them, though I don't know when we'll use them. Either way, it's a small price to pay for free DDP!

What's the longest anyone has booked (or been offered) a 2008 bounceback offer for so far? I'm assuming it's this year's 14 day maximum, but I've read a few references to 10 days.

I called CRO and was transferred to guest services. They said that the offer was given randomly at the resorts and not offered to every guest so if you didn't receive it you weren't eligible......

Just thought I'd pass on.

Not apologizing - just can't imagine eating that much food for more than a few days in a row. I think I need to sit down and figure out which restaurants and shows I'd like to try and determine the number of days from that. I don't arrive until the 27th so I want to have a plan before I check in. Let the eating commence! popcorn::

BTW, your angel is just beautiful!

This is what we ran into last Dec, and I knew more than any og the dozens of CMs I talked with. I was so frustrated - but when I got home I called and explained this and was able to book it. I talked with CM last night and she said it was available to anyone staying at any WDW resort.

I kinda find what the CM said hard to believe since some who have booked it are saying they saw the offer on Resort TV - there's no way that is a random offer. And if they're also putting letters in rooms, I don't believe they're tracking who is getting them. As long as someone is a registered guest during this promo time, they should be eligible - and many have reported verification of them being checked in when booking. They have a dedicated extension for guests to call, so I can see where some CMs who aren't in that dedicated booking role might not know the details.

I guess I'll see next Sunday/Monday when I'm at CSR! Will report back if I'm able to book.
