Enough for now, I need to get to bed!

Great pics John! But.....EEEEEWW! Who threw up all over Mickey?! :rotfl2: Hey, that piano thing Sophia was walking on looks like what was in Tom Hank's movie "Big". And the Apple store is so cool! But I'm confused....Is that glass structure in front of the store?

That IS the piano thing from Big, and you can buy it for $250,000! The Apple store is UNDER that - you take a glass elevator or glass steps downstairs. The store is completely underground, and that cube is the storefront on the plaza above ground. Really cool!

sounds like a blast:) ....lots of walking though. My daughter is not into American Girl yet ...I heard it could get really expensive so she could wait....she's not five for another month and a half. I'm glad you had a good time and made it back safely:thumbsup2

Expensive? That store about melted Mickey on my Disney Visa! Just wait until your daughter is old enough . . . Did I tell you you can buy matching outfits for the doll and your daughter?

Thanks for easing my confusion about the Apple store. That's got to be the coolest store ever! How awesome!

Ugh. I'm SO glad I don't have a girl. I'd be absolutely miserable having to deal with that whole phase.

We are going I think Oct 21st. Im not a big Halloween person but after going to this the first time a few years back we've now made it a tradition. The parade is awesome and its fun to see all the families come out with some really neat costumes.Plus, bethany loves to say she trick and treated at Disney.

We usually do the xmas one too but actually like the Halloween party better.

Totally agree - we've been to both and prefer the MNSSHP too!

I've always gone to the CKC for years. The CKC used to only come to Mesa so I would go once a year but now they also go to Phoenix so I go to both. I actually spent the weekend(besides laundry/cleaning) organizing my scrapbooking armoire...I fell in love:love: with the one, the Hideaway one, they have at the CKC but that's not the one I got:sad1: My DH surprised me for Christmas with one he found on target.com small but when I bought a cropper hopper and stuff it works just fine....love to crop but don't have tonz of time to do it. How nice that your DH did all that for you how nice....that would never happen at my house...I could dream though.:rotfl:

I would love one of the armoire's. Our apartment is really small so there is no room for one. I actually scrapbook at friend's the most. Or here I use a card table set-up in the living room.

I'll have to check out the Target site though and see if a smaller one would work for me.

Whenever I go away without DH (for work or a scrapping event) I always come home to a cleaner apartment then when I left. In reverse he always comes home to scrapbook stuff everywhere as it seems to take over every surface if I'm not watching!

He sounds like me. I get mad, get glad and get over it!! I am not one for holding things inside.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I shouldn't be laughing but I just can't hold a grudge. I jump up and down and scream but when I am done being mad, I am done!!!

That's me too!

Ok our air conditioning went out and boy is it HOT!!! 80 degrees at night!

John- love NYC. Great Pics.

Ok so if anyone has late seating and wants to eat together let us know!

Also if anyone is going toward or to Candy Cane Inn, if you want I can get transportation for us to the hotel.

Bummer about your air conditioning! We have just the opposite problem. It's been so cold the past few days, I actually turned on the heat Friday night! Today we had to wear jeans and jackets. It only got up to 61 today. But I'm thrilled to not be sweaty and miserable for a change.

Welcome to the site sorry I'm not that quick:sad2:

Deb-hope you take care of those legs and they get better real soon:)

I've got my appointment with the wound care center on Thurs morning....in the meantime, I'll try to keep elevating. Thanks for your care and concern, it's nice to know.:goodvibes :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

John- Welcome back—I’m glad you had a good time in NYC!

Ditto!!!

My birthday was pretty boring. We BBQed some kilbasa, hot dogs and steak. I did a lot of cleaning. As expected, there were no gifts. Hopefully I can get to bed early and just rest!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!:woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo:

OK, so let me tell you what we did in NYC . . .

Wed: Walked from the hotel at Times Square to Central Park, went to the zoo (very nice and a good suggestion), walked back via 5th avenue and stopped at all the stores (Apple, FAO, Tiffany, etc.). Stopped at Rockefeller Center too, and then back to the hotel and dinner at a nearby brewpub.

Thurs: Took the subway to the station at Battery Park, and because we did not know at first you had to be in one of the first five cars, we had to car hop at every stop until we got to the front of the train. Took the Ferry to the Statue of Liberty on one of the muggiest days in NYC! Took the subway back, and went to dinner at Carmines, had a great Italian meal. Went to see Mary Poppins, and thouroughly enjoyed the show. Late night dessert at the hotel after the show.

Friday: Started the day at the Empire State Building, then went to the American Girl Store (spent several HOURS there - OY - they need a Sports bar there!). Ate lunch at the cafe there. Headed back to the hotel, Dinner at "Juniors" a bakery and sandwich place right by the hotel, then walked to Wicked. Really enjoyed Wicked (Sophia actually liked it better than Mary Poppins!). Late dessert at Juniors after the show.

Saturday: Took the subway to Ground Zero, and walked around there. We also visited the small museum there. We were all very moved. Both Amy and I had tears in our eyes. We then took the subway back up to Central Park and the Natural History Museum. Had lunch at the Natural History Museum, and toured the museum. Walked back up along all the posh apartment buildings beside the park, and walked over to the Dakota where John Lennon was shot. Walked a bit through Central park and then took a Hansom Cab ride through the park. Cab back to the hotel, quick dinner at Junior's again, and then decided just to walk around Times Square on our last night. Lots of people, people EVERYWHERE! Saw four different "Spidermen"

I have to say we only ran into a few really rude and/or mean people. Many, many, more nice people who were kind and helped us out.

We were really freaked out when we got home today and heard on the news about the fire at Ground Zero - we were just there several hours before that fire started!

Photos coming next.

What a great New York Experience! Glad it went so well for you all...you got a lot done in a few days. Nice Vacation! :hippie:

Trying to catch up on everything. I've given up. That cat keeps sitting on my keyboard and this is the first chance I've had on the desk top in days. DH is currently working from home and it's driving me nuts.

Hope everyone is well. I check the Ship of Theives bulletin board. It's easier to keep track of things there. hint, hint.

Counting the days until I can do some more planning for my cruise.
Tiggerspal: Hope your AC fixed soon. We need to have a mid point Cruise met. I need a Disney fix.

Thurs: Took the subway to the station at Battery Park, and because we did not know at first you had to be in one of the first five cars, we had to car hop at every stop until we got to the front of the train.

:confused3  So, why do you have to be in one of the first five cars?

Let's see if I can do this without missing something...

Happy Birthday!!:cheer2: :cheer2: and great pics of Olivia...she is adorable!

Did Tyler enjoy Thomas? We took Jaide when she was 4 and she didn't care at all....she whined until she got some ice cream:lmao:

John1...great pics! Did you get to try a black & white? Did you see the naked cowboy in times square? Sounds like you had a blast. The shirt Sophia's doll is wearing is the same set each of my girl's have for their dolls. Only once did I get them each to put theirs on with their dolls...and I didn't even get a picture! I spent waaaaaaay too much money in that store, but it was fun (and I didn't even have a kid with me!).

V...glad to hear that you and your mom are better. I am very close with my mom and we go through things like that too and it weighs on me nonstop until we find peace again. I think it comes from being so close....I talk to my mom at least once a day too. Oh, and congrats on the potty training...is it still going well?

So, HSM2...I thought it was good, but that it tried too hard to be something else...the grease similarities, the dirty dancing similarities. I actually liked the first one better. So, we were watching it and at the end Taylor says Mom..look, it's Miley Cyrus. I tell her no, that she isn't in that movie and it is someone who looks like her. she is insistent and I finally get her to understand that she wasn't in the movie! Then, I get on here and read everyone's comments about Miley being in the end of the movie!!! I had to call my 5 year old down and tell her mommy was wrong! :lmao: Now, I want to see it again. I can't believe she spotted that and I didn't (and that I insisted she was wrong!).

Went to the 300.00 store today and Bed Bath & Beyond and spent a small fortune but all the bathrooms (but ours) are done now! And the guest room is all set! 3 rooms closer to finished.

Thanks for the mini trippie! We had a great trip to NYC and would love to go back. We went to Ground Zero and were moved like you both. How is the building work going on?

Would be interested as I believe it is $84 or something for a taxi!

Thanks for the pictures Holly, John and Gydell!

The real name for Thomas is Thomas the Tank Engine, though I don't think our children know what a tank engine is either!! All our grandchildren have been into Thomas to some degree, though all the boys have had many Thomas and friends toys and track. The youngest boy is 3 and a half, and is now into ScoobyDoo!! We don't have anything like American Girl here, which I think would be a relief to the mums and dads!!! I get the feeling they are quite expensive too. I do think, though, that they will help keep little girls just that and not grow up too quickly. Some of our little girls over here are like mini adults and it is very sad.
