Anyone know if they give reserved seats or is it a cattle car like southwest? I used to detest the cattle car approach and hence I'd rarely fly SWA. I kno I could look it up on JBs' site - but if someone know then everyone interested will benefit from the knowledge.

Don't know if you got your answer...but you can choose your seats when you book online. It isn't like the free for all cattle call!

By the way...can I just say you crack me up with ALL your images!:rotfl2:
You are too funny!

Chrissie

Oh, Man!!! I have to got to get me one of these :rotfl: :rotfl:

On our last cruise there were several people that had cabins switched at the terminal (upgrades, GTY status room changes) and once that happened there was no way of finding out what cabin they had moved to unless you happened to run into them on the ship.I can see this being an issue (on a much larger scale) with all the GTY's we have.

Perhaps we should have some plan in place if your cabin number changes from the list at any time you can notify other DISers via fish mail :confused3 :confused3 ....just thinking out loud.

Maybe designate 1 cabin from the comitte to be the official list holder. If anyone has any cabin changes, they notify that person. Then as anyone is ready to distribute fish mail, they can double check the list??

Monica has told you lately that you're brilliant? That would work so well - as long as we make sure the designated cabin/list holder doesn't change cabins. :rotfl:

Since drinking has become a priority of this committee, I was thinking that a designated bar stool rather than cabin might work as well :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Or perhaps Julie McCoy with her clipboard

Great ideas! We can use the bars stools as a backup location in case our designated person in charge is spending all his or her time in the bar . . .

I have a definate room #. SPH. They better not change me... Unless it's for a balcony...

I'd be willing to manage any list updates.

We've had 28 volunteers to take the bar stool position (and most of this list isn't home from work yet!) :lmao: :lmao:

When we get closer, your SPH room may be the one.

I'm off to take a dreaded Stress Test, I really hate these things.
The last 2 that I had ended up with surgery and I don't want a 3rd. :sad2:

 Here's hoping that everything went fine!!!!

oops...forgot to say good morning everyone!! happy over-the-hump day!!!

i took the day off today, so i could get ready for a yard sale this weekend. after sleeping in til 9ish, i decided, i'd better not have the sale this weekend!! i'm pushing it off til next weekend now....so, now i have a few hours to myself for catching up here!!! i should be cleaning house, but i really don't want to! and i also should be working on making plans for our trip at the end of aug...but i'm so lazy about that too! oh well, maybe i'll just sit here on the couch and veg out all day!....yep...i think that is what i'll do!!
hope everyone has a great day!!

Happy Hump-Day, Shannon

...and, happy veg-out day too(I just love those)

OK, may I PLEASE pirate: pirate: your flag.

I think it goes very nicely with my new TAG

I just wanted to peek in here and say Hi and we're still alive...

It's great to see the thread's still going strong!! :thumbsup2

I want to appologize for not stopping in here lately. I was explaining to goofyforlife that with all of the adoption stuff (which is still pregressing, but s-l-o-w-l-y...No real news yet. :sad2: ), we have begun thinking that we may not get to go on the cruise. First off, it's looking like we may be getting more than one child...the children we've inquired about are almost all sibling groups of 2.

SO...Here's the dilemma:

If we get a placement within the next month or so, we should be fine. We'll be settled in enough by next August that we could make the trip.

If we don't get a placement until after the new year, we may not be able to go simply because when we booked, we booked for 2A and 1C...We don't know how difficult (and how expensive) it will be to add another child at the last minute...

And if we don't get a placement at all (which hopefully won't happen...:headache: ), then we will DEFINITELY still be going...

Sheesh...I sound like a crazy lady. But this is just all so emotionally frustrating and draining. So I'm finally ready to admit to all of you that we "MAY NOT" get to go on the cruise. But I plan to become a part of this thread again, because no matter what happens, you all have been a fun group!

(and I want to make it perfectly clear that while I was deeply saddened by the possibility of not getting to go on the TOAL, I know that if we don't get to go, it will be for the GLORIOUS reason that "I'm a MOMMY finally!!" And once that happens, there will be PLENTY of cruises in our future!!! :thumbsup2 ...I don't want it to appear that I would in ANY way let the cruise plans interfere with our plans for children...Good grief I'm not really making sense so I'll shut up now...LOL)
Thanks!

ETA: I WILL NOT be taking my ticker or my banner out of my signature until the very LAST, BITTER moment So if you still see them down there, then we still might be going!!!! :thumbsup2

What would be the best way to distribute the accurate updated list to all??? Could be a job for more than one cabin since it would be have to be distributed to a rather large (we hope) list of cabins participating. I haven't been able to ketchup far back enough for committee info, but I would be glad to offer help (along with that bar stool thingy going on) :rotfl:

I can so sense your frustration in your posting.

I truly hope all works out for you and quickly :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thanks! I know things will work out one way or another. I just have a [somewhat] Type A personality, and the waiting/not knowing/not being able to get things in order and finalized is driving me bonkers...LOL

But whatever happens, it's what's meant to be, and we've had to just kind of take a deep breath and "let go" the past couple of months. (and realize that there are just some things in life we can't have control over...HMPH!! *stomps foot* )

Mike, if there is a problem we will hold clinical rotations on the Magic. We have 3-2nd year interns, 2-4th year interns doing clinical rotations and 2 residents currently in our hospital. You name the kind of rotation that you need and I will give you a months worth of knowledge. You get your rotation and vacation and I get (oh, did I forget to mention my price for preceptorship :smooth:) rum.
wine-smiley-001.gif

Sounds like a great offer Roger. I'll bring your preceptor paperwork and an extra bottle of rum! Well, even if Temple won't agree to your preceptorship, I'll still bring the rum!:thumbsup2

Best wishes that all goes well with your adoption. Hopefully, you'll get your placement and have a beautiful child ( or children!) early enough to go on the TOAL. But if you don't get to go, I can't think of a better reason. I had to cancel the repo in 2005 because of school, and I'm a little worried about it again for this trip, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for your family and mine!

I hope it works out for you, Christa, that you are able to have your child -- or children - AND go on the TOAL . . . :grouphug:
