Wow, Robin Hood sure has changed! Here is my picture of Robin Hood from last July (on my birthday actually):

Do you mean the bird that had an orange for a head? I don't know if he ever was a character, but I know he was the mascot for the FL Citrus Growers (I think that's who it was) who used to sponsor the Tiki Room back when it was good. They were the sponsors of the Enchanted Grove where you get a Citrus Swirl back when they used to be real frozed orange juice swirled with real ice cream, not sweetened orange freezy stuff swirled with frozen yogurt. I used to have an old plastic bank shaped like that bird, but I can't remember if I bought him at WDW or at a souvenir shop on I-Drive - there was a shop shaped like an orange that I think isn't there anymore. It was near Shell World, which may also be gone. Darn I miss the Orlando of my childhood!

ETA: I found a picture of him, this is just like the bank I had. Is this the bird you were talking about?

WHOA... I see that the bird bank was sold by Walt Disney Productions so I'm guessing sold in the parks... and now is selling for $35.00! I'll have to see if I still have mine! Check it out: http://www.tias.com/11862/PictPage/1922539842.html#images
That's the bird!!!

Great pics everyone! These pictures are some screen captures from the 1985 & 1986 Walt Disney World Christmas Parade. The quality isn't that great since they are from 20 year old VHS tapes.

The first one is of Dumbo's Ringmaster with Dumbo in the background.

Wow. I didn't even know the Ringmaster from Dumbo or some of those Robin Hood characters were ever in the park. Great pics.

These pictures are great!!! I can't believe how much some of the character's costumes have changed!!!

I think that they should revive some of the old characters, but the problem is, many young kids probably don't know who they are.

I would personally like to see the characters from Oliver & Company and Mowgli. :rotfl:

Orange World and Shell World are alive and well! :woohoo: We just went to both last August. Orange World has been featured on an HGTV program about odd buildings. They also featured Xanadu: House of the Future on that episode, too. Remember that one?

I'm sure your Orange Bird bank came from WDW. They used to sell a bunch of little Orange Bird merchandise, little PVC figures, jewelry, book and record sets, and the fabulous bank. :yay:

I never went to Disney as a child. In 1990 I went to DisneyLand on a whirlwind trip to all the parks in CA. But my love of Disney started when I met my DH. We went in 1998, I was 31, with friends of his and wasn't sure if I'd ever be back I decided I was doing everything even if I was scared. Fast forward first trip back was 2004 with dd (3) and we are going on our 6th trip 4th in calendar year in 15 days. My whole point is I love the old pictures I missed when I was a kid, but who am I kidding I love the new pictures too. Keep them coming.
