Oh I love them!

Did you make the princess applique, do you use a pattern or just freehand it somehow (mind a-boggled on the idea, lol).

I wish these ebay sellers would remember that girls bigger than size 6x would love these (pout pout pout). My girls are size 12, and I've yet to find anything their size online....of course maybe I'm not looking in the right place! Anyone have a seller that makes big girl clothing?

Oh goodness gracious....I just realized that you SELL these don't you? And here I am asking for your pattern, please forgive. Do you sell just the applique so I could put it on clothes that would fit my girls? Would be interested in any of the princesses, but their special ones are Ariel and Belle. Could you please tell me your ebay ID.....I'd love to see the rest of your stuff.

Again, I apologize for not remembering you make these to sell......I sure wish this board would let you add your seller ID to your name tag....would save me from making this silly faux pas!

MICKEYP-I can't PM you back! It's saying my post count is too low but my ebay ID is KelBias for jewelry. I don't have any clothes listed right now and I've currently deleted my ME page. I don't have time to sew but I do have a fantastic Ebay seller that I can give you. Contact me through Ebay. I can respond to messages through there until I can figure out how to do it here! Anyone know how many post I have to have before I can PM and add pics? Thank!

Me too please!!

Me Three, lol.

and while I'm beggin.............I'd love anything on princesses that anyone has for sale, or has bought and has a seller's name for me......we are definitely princess obsessed here in this house (poor DH, lol). All princesses are loved here....but a special fondness for Ariel and Belle.

Is Mulan officially considered one of the princesses? I know Pocohontas doesn't seem to be, though she was the daughter of a chief, so that's princess in the Indian world....but I can't remember seeing Mulan in that mix either. Guess I could just wait and ask the experts when they wake up, lol.

No Mulan is not a princess. She is/was a Chinese heroine. I'm getting my dd a Mula outfit for CNY because my dd is Chinese and I think it will be cute.

You could make an applique by using a coloring book page. Shrink or enlarge it to the size you want. The lines on the coloring page will be your pattern for the applique. It's really like a puzzle. I made some posters for a Bday party this way.

I am not totally sure why.... but I haven't made a Disney outfit yet. I would rather buy them off Ebay! :lmao: This is an outfit I made this week. I still have to put button holes in it... going to do that as soon as I post :headache:

Great work everyone!! :goodvibes jen

ADORABLE!! I think that's my favorite style :goodvibes

I found the Minnie dot fabric today at Hancock's! Mytwotinks and I had both looked everywhere for it a few months ago, and we were told over and over again that it was a discontinued print. :confused3

I bought all 8 yards that my local store had. The saleslady told me that it had a reorder # on it so hopefully it is something that they will carry continuously again. :)

My Hancock's manager said that they get many many bolts late Summer (for Halloween costume sewing)...but that once it's sold out they don't order again until the following summer. So that's why we don't see any NOW...but in a few months it'll be restocked. Just be sure to buy what you want/need for the year because it is "seasonal". But....they said it's not discontinued (she looked it up on some sheet). just not all year.

That said...we visited some friends this past week (small town). They just got a new Walmart Superstore so we went to check it out.....surprisingly this new store had a fabric department (the new and remodeled ones around my big city are not carrying fabric anymore). And they had red dot fabric....now I think it's a more red/red color than the deeper darker red of Minnie, but my girls were thrilled, so I bought all 12 yards, lol.

That is adorable!

One of my favorite sellers just listed a Cinderella set on Ebay. It's over the top...a 6 piece set. You can search "custom princess".

I'm sure it's going to go for many $$$$ but you can check it out.

Could someone please PM me this auction # or the seller's eBay ID? I just want to see the outfit. I promise I won't bid against you.:lmao:

Thanks,

I PMed you. I'm not bidding on it because I think Cinderella is a little overdone. Maybe one day we'll do Cinderella but it will have to be when Gracie asks.

It's the same at JoAnnes. It can be found with the costume fabrics. If you look at pictures of the "real" Minnie, her red is an orange based red. Not the blue.

Thanks,

Got it. Thanks everyone. I showed my dh. He couldn't get over the fact that it was already at $200. He's now willing to move some things out of the guest bedroom now though so I can turn it into a sewing room. :rotfl2:

Here is a pic of my dd - this is the polka dot dress from walmart - I just appliqued on a mickey head and re-used the bow on the dress for minnie's bow. The flip flops I bought at old navy and made the bows from ribbon I bought at walmart - thanks for all the tips on this thread!!

Kimisabella -- your dress turned out really cute -- and I love the flip-flops. Do you have any bowmaking instructions that you could share? (Pretty please? ;))

I follow an instruction manual I bought on ebay - the bows are pretty easy to make, I can't really explain it, I just look at the instructional pictures. the korkers are easy as well - you take 3/8" grosgrain ribbon, and wrap it around about 18" dowels, secure w/clothespins, put in the oven at 275 degrees for about 12 minutes - let them cool completly and unwrap. Cut them in 2-3" pieces and just lay them on top of one another and use a needle and thread to secure.

Thanks...I've made quite a few cute korkers, but haven't mastered the other kind yet. I have a set of instructions, but I'm having trouble following the photos. Perhaps practice makes perfect! Thanks for the reply.

Cute! I can't believe your daughter was the only one dressed up for pirate night! I just ordered a pirate tutu set in eBay for DD to wear on pirate night on the cruise and to the Halloween party, too. It's SO cute! pirate: I'm just surprised that no one else got into the theme. :confused3 Even I have a cool Pirates of the Caribbean shirt I'm going to wear.

I could not belive it either..I thought all the kids would be dressed up.Why not the kids love it. I would not worry about it your daughter will look adorable! Who did you buy the tutu from? I also make the pirate tulle tutus...

not sounding totally stupid here.....but what exactly is a korker? From reading and since you were talking about bows, presuming they are the curly little things I have seen on some of the bows pictured?????

Hi everyone! I am suffering from some major sunburn. I laid down with my DD to take a quick nap, and woke up with it. We spent the day, well I spent the day, washing and waxing the car and powerwashing the driveway, then we spent an hour or so in the pool. Dummy me... I let my 5 yr old put the sunblock on my back. I had on a swimsuit and shorts. Well, now I'm a lovely shade of maroon. I should have just worn a shirt.
Anyway, I do the applique by hand. The toughest part for me is the face, because I'm definately not a hand sewer.
Lisa

I continue to be impressed by everyones creativity. I have very little artistic ability but I was able to make my DD a loopy bow yesterday. Didn't take long at all and turned out good. Now I would like to make one of those bottlecap bows that I keep seeing everywhere but I don't have any directions on how to do this. If there is anyone who does and would be willing to share it would be greatly appreciated. If I could get any type of directions for a bow that could have an embellishment added to the middle that would work too. Thanks!
