I know there has been some talk about how we were going to identify each other when we got to port. What we did on my Jan '06 cruise is got those rubber/silicone bracelets (similar to the Lance Armstrong ones).

What do you think of that idea? The cost of the bracelets ranges from about $2.00 to $2.50 depending on the company and shipping costs. There would also be postage/shipping from me to you. All in all, I'd say around $3.00 each, but I'd have to first find out who I could order from and so on. So this is just a ballpark. I would give you a definite before I placed any orders.

One sight I came across had a Disney font available. Using "Konked Kruisers 10/20/07" it would look like this:

Sample.png

The downside with this company is they only have 1 adult size and 1 youth size. They also don't offer Lime Green (at least I didn't see it offered - only green).

Other sites have 2 adult sizes and a Youth and Child size. That company is a little more per bracelet.

So, just wondering what is important to everyone.

Color?
Price?
Sizes to choose from?
Font?
Anything I'm forgetting.

Is this something you would like me to pursue?

What message would you want on it? I think we are limited to 25 characters (and no that doesn't mean Mickey, Donald, Goofy or the rest of the gang).

Jeff I agree with Nancy that this is a great idea. I know Rachel and I would want one I'd just have to ask Al if he would wear one. I think the Konked Kruisers message you put on the example is perfect and it doesn't matter that it's not lime green it's still green.

Carrie glad to hear things went well today :cheer2: It sounds like your mom is starting to make some progress :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

Cheryl
Thank you so much that means a lot to me, and us. Mom did great today. I got her out to get her hair cut and then we went to Taco Bell and she ate one Taco and drank her ensure when we got home. She played on the floor with Mackenzie for about 15 minutes. Our total visit was about 3 1/2 hours long so that was great for my mom.

Good night everyone. I think I'm going to go and watch last nights episode of Greys Anatomy (and have a piece of DQ cake.)

Jeff, I think this is a great idea!! I know I would never get my boys to wear Mardi Gras Beads like we did last time. I'm not picky either. If there is anything I can do to help, just yell.

It doesn't matter if they are DIS green, or a different green. I'll spend up to $4.00 on each one. Will the adult size fit the guys with big hands??

Awesome idea!! And thanks for doing this for us.

I'm with Nancy. This is a great idea! I would also be interested in the sizes--as in how many inches do they measure? mind out of the gutter.....

So it sounds like the specific color doesn't matter as long as we get green.

What about the font. Do you care if it is "Disney" font or not?

Sounds like the size of the bands would be of interest to you - more choices.

The site that offers more sizes does NOT offer the Disney font.

I will look up the sizes and post them shortly.

Yikes !!!

Im waiting for a man from tescos to come out ( Tescos is a supermarket) I brought some red seddless grapes today, and I had them in the bag on the kitchen worktop with other shopping. I ate a few grapes as I put shopping away.... then .......... out of the corner of my eye I see a SPIDER !!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

It dashes down the back of the cooker...................... I look in the grape bag and there is a big white sack of cobweb type thing all over the grapes.!!!

im gagging!!!

I called Tescos, they think the spider could be posionious, !!! so they are sending a man out to try and catch it!

It was only small, but now I feel sick, I nearly ate it !!!!

That is so gross. Do you think they will be able to catch the spider. At least they are sending someone to try to catch it. Stores out here would not do that. I wish you all the luck with it. Keep me posted.

Jeff,

Any kind of green is fine with me. I personally would rather be sure that the guys will be able to wear one rather than the Disney font. My boys have big hands. Whatever doesn't cause you a ton of work is OK with me. :)

Its really easy - its a free google downlaod called Picasa2. Just download it, it scans your pc automatically and puts every image into its "memory", and then just click on "make a collage" from your photos already on your pc. Select the photos and its as easy as that!.

Then use photobucket to get them onto here.

Have a go - if I can do it - anyone can:lmao:

Big hug for your Mum:hug: - hopefully she'll be hop, skip and jumping onto that ship:banana:
[/QUOTE]

I will have to give it a try. Thanks hopefully I will have time to do it this weekend.

Thank you for you thoughts on my mother. She is doing well today. Now if we could only get her to eat then I know her enegry level would go up. I will see her again Monday and that will be with all 3 kids so we will see how she handles that one.

Here is what I found for sizes:

Reminderbands:
Large = 8 3/8" (.5" wide)
Medium = 7 3/8" (.5" wide)
Child = 5 7/8" (.4" wide) - they say this is usually for children 4-6 y.o.

Lime Green is available
Only Ariel font

EZ Bands:

Adult = 8"
Youth = 7"

Lime Green is available
Their site is being updated and I don't remember if they had the Disney font. I believe they are.

There are other dealers, but some require a 100 minimum. I don't think we'd get to that level, but if we do, I can look into those as well.

Guess there are only two options.

I would just like to say thank you to everyone that has given me comments on my mother. I have always been a person to handle everything on my own until this happened. It is very hard for me to depend on people. I know I have only been a part of this group for a very small time but everyone has gone way out of their way to make me feel very welcomed and I would just like to say thank you and your support means so much to me. I can not wait to meet everyone. :grouphug:

Sounds like the larger bands will be better. The extra 3/8" could be a big difference. I'll have to check my other ones, but I think they will expand a little to get around their hands.

I looked at Reminderbands again (they had the 3 sizes) and it looks like we would not be more than $2.10 each before shipping from me to each of you. So the price is pretty good. You won't get a souvineer for less than that.

Again, final pricing won't be know until we get a better count.

I'm only in the investigation stage now. When it looks like we will move forward, I will ask each of you to PM me how many you'd be interested in and sizes. I would then get a more specific price.

On June 16th we are headed out to the East coast, via Interstate 10 through Louisiana (for a whole month--EEK!). I call it the LaQuinta Inn tour of 2007!

We'll be in San Bernardino, Phoenix, El Paso, San Antonio, then Delcambre, Louisiana (Rob's and my hometown)......

Sounds like a fun trip. I have family in the San Berdino area, and we livei n the Phoenix area, and I have been through El Paso, and used to have family in San Antonio, they are all great places to visit. You will have to tell me about Louisiana. I have not been back there since before the flood. Have a great time on your trip.

Jeff....
Would enjoy hearing the story of the "OUTLAWS":lmao:

I relish hearing stories about other's not so perfect families after how awful mine have been...... makes me feel like I'm not alone!:rotfl:

Rose

I will tell you there is no way your are alone on that one. I have stories about mine that would make yours look normal. Only problem is they are to long to write so I will have to tell you when we meet. I really don't know how my DH turned out as good as he did with his family raising him. :rolleyes1

I like that idea alot. I don't care about the color, it should definatly be something that stands out. Price is something to consider but because I am built so small I would say the size is something to consider also. Great idea.

I finally got caught up on everyones posts. I am so hooked on this. I check it every time I have free time. Well I am off to bed. I will not be on first thing in the morning. My DH takes me and our DD out for breakfast when he gets home from work. It is our date time just the 3 of us. We do it every other Sat. so this will be our morning. You bet I will be on as soon as I get home. Have a good night everyone, a great weekend and a terrific mothers day for those in the US. And for those in the UK and belated Happy mothers day since I was not a part of this group in March.

Good night

WOW!!!!:yay: I haven't been on the boards since yesterday but it seems like an eternity.......It's 12:30 in the morning and I finally have finished catching up! Let's see if I get everyone:

Happy Birthday Jason:cheer2:

Happy Birthday to Rachel:cheer2: ......and I was so saddened to hear about her friends mom....wouldn't it be great if we could shield our kids from those kinds of things.....Hope all is well:sad1:

Carrie - I was so sorry to read about your mom....how awful for all of you. Is your poor dad okay?:sad1: I'm glad that today was a better day for her. We will keep you in our prayers. Great story about your proposal!!!! My husband proposed to me on the Haunted Mansion in WDW!!! I will never forget it.......I said yes and he started screaming to his mom (who was in the car behind us) "she said yes...she said yes" Well, then everyone began to applaud. I was so embarassed! :goodvibes

Jeff - Thanks for the pic of Chris. I've been wondering what my "mysterious man of intrigue" looked like! And my whole family loves the idea of the wrist bands!! My boys collect all kinds of them so they are really excited. We are happy with whatever design the group decides to go with!

Cass - Thanks for the great explanation of photobucket. I'm going to have to work on that some more this weekend......Best of luck on your house...it is really a great looking place to raise a family!:)

Linda - Thanks for your "Bruce" pic.....my boys thought it was great. They think it is so funny to see everyone in the same pose!!!! Way to go on your 9lb weight loss.....your my hero!!!! And that SPIDER!!! YYYUUUCCKKK! I don't know how you managed to keep your wits about you........GROOOOSSSS!!!:scared1:

Cheryl - I love the pictures.....Rachel is so cute with Mickey....Don't change the size! I'm afraid I won't be able to see you guys.:)

I hope I've remembered everyone........It's late, and I have a soccer picnic tomorrow for my youngest. I better get some rest......16 six-year -old soccer players is gonna take all the energy I have!!! :yay:

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL!!!!

I will never be able to keep up! :lmao:

Carrie, my heart goes out to you and your mom & family! I can't imagine how hard it must be for all of you but on the bright side, you still have her! I would give almost anything to have my mom back, even for a day! She died 10 years ago this December and it hurts my heart everytime I think about how she will never meet Kira and Kira will never meet her. I am the youngest of her 5 children and I only had 26 years with her. She died young at 57, she had a rough life yet she was an AMAZING woman, only ever truly happy when she was doing things for other people.

This Sunday will be the first Mother's Day in ten years that I will actually enjoy.

So to all you daughters out there, go give your mom a BIG HUGE HUG and tell her how much you love her! And to all you Mothers out there...a big HUGE HUG to you, OMG what a hard job it is, I never knew until recently. Kudos to you all!!

GREAT NEWS! We got the house!!! They called early this morning and said that they liked us and weren't going to show it to anyone else, they want us to have the house!!! So, we are trying to work out a rent-to-own thing and should be moved in by mid-June. Rob and I spent the night packing and organizing. No elliptical tonight but I sure got a workout getting packed!!

Cheryl, LOVE the photos!! We have pics at DL with the C and R :) Also, loved the La Jolla photo! I was in that exact same spot about 2 years ago. Aren't those seals hilarious!!?? Rob works for an RF company that's based in San Diego and we went there to sign his contract and we stayed in La Jolla and I fell in LOVE with it!! I have some photos on my website as I couldn't stop taking photos it was so gorgeous LOL!

Jeff, the bracelets sound great! Thanks for getting it all organized for us!

Hey are we EVER going to see a REAL pic of you....and AFEG???? Come on guys!! Let's see some pics!!!!!

Speaking of pics...

While I was packing up tonight, I found some photos we bought from Shutters on our last cruise that I never even scanned! I forgot I even had them! I will try to scan them and share them with you. Who doesn't love cruise photos right???

LOL, you guys must be getting sick of me posting all these photos! :lmao:

Just wanted to share something about my hubby Rob with you...

He was SO excited when he saw this...Long story short, he is a BIG Star Wars geek and he is part of the 501st which is a group of people who dress up in proper star wars costumes and attend charity events for free. There is a story on Starwars.com all about them!

http://www.starwars.com/community/news/family/news20070504.html

There's even a pic of him! Well, in the group pic, you can easily pick him out, he's the clone trooper (first row, on his knees, he's the only one that has yellow on his costume).

Good morning everyone.

Congats Cass on the house -good luck with packing.

Love the shutters photos....I have a question.. the ones with a white background etc...are these taken in front of a queue of people or is it quite private? I would love one done of the three of us, but I would hate it if lots of others could see us posing.
