IF the Big Cheese is reading, how would you improve DVC? *Updated Summary Post #105*

Enforce the rules that you write or change them.

I agree and that is one that would have made my list.

Second: Increase the home resort priority to a 11 -6 window giving owners a better chance at their home.

Third: Train MS better so they know more than we do.

Last: How about a full cleaning on day 4. I'd be willing to bet that it would SAVE us all money in the long run with a decrease in reapirs/remodels.

JTimber:

I agree with you 100% that a full cleaning during week long/longer visits would help keep the units in overall better shape and cut down on maintenance and remodeling. It would also provide housekeeping the opportunity to get into these units and make sure they are not being treated poorly by the occupants. I know they do trash and towel but I believe housekeeping is in and out quickly and likely not paying attention to issues/problems with the unit that they would pick up on if they were doing a full cleaning. I am often amazed when walking down the halls the people who throw wet towels, bags of garbage, room service trays (they could at least cover them with the cloth napkins), etc, in the hallway. I can't imagine what the inside of their unit may look like.

I would also like to see a more consistent balance in service and upkeep (maintentance and housekeeping) at all the DVC resorts. It seems that there is always one DVC that is generating more complaints then others. All the DVC resorts have certainly had their turn!!!! For example there was one recent report that the pool at one resort was a lot warmer than another resort by someone who had a split stay. My guess is the inconsistencies between resorts have a lot to do with the resort management in place at the time of your visit; some management staffs are better then others and I'm sure it changes frequently.

Discount on souvenirs. More member only events would make owners feel a bit more special. I've said it before, a roped off area for the fireworks show at MK with soda machines and popcorn would cost DVC very little but make DVC owners feel very special. It kills me when I see special events for Disney Visa holders on each trip but never for DVC members. I'd love to get a Disney Visa but can't. US residents only.

Increase the time non owners can book at the smaller resorts, give owners only one month i.e 11 and 10.

The ticket discount would be a big plus for us. We are not AP holders since we only visit once a year. The full housekeeping visit on day 4 would be nice. Also, pool hopping to SAB would be nice to have again.

I wish DVC would offer cost free Lobotomies to approprimately 30% of members who choice to complain about things they shouldn't complain about.

:rotfl2:

only if I can use my Disney Visa and get free financing for 6 months:lmao: and get my name on a tapestry.

Seriously, was thrilled they offered new percs (including the DP:dance3: ); would like to see other offerings. How about a modest discount on MYW tix? A sure-fire cheap crowd pleaser would be 1 FP/visit good for any attraction.:wizard:

As for shortening the 7 month window, think it would be an injustice to those who did 'buy where they wanted to stay'. Many of us recent buyers paid a premium for our choice of home resort/points; without promos, etc as SSR received. While I book 11 months out, I do depend on having a few months to tweak our plans before the dates are opened to all.

open up one or two of the smaller lakes to DVC members for fishing without a guide while renting a jon boat and trolling motor.

I'm not a golfer

I had posted a number of "improvement" items in a similar thread about a month back. Quick rehash:
  • Expand BVTC affiliations to include Worldmark, Fairfield, etc. for nightly stays.
  • Drop the $95 inbound exchange fee if arriving guest is already a DVC owner
  • Allow DVC members to join II directly
  • Confirm room type requests (smoking/special needs) at time of reservation. (Confirm -- not simply Request)
  • Build something at DL! ;)

  • Better housekeeping. I have always thought this area was a bit sloppy.
  • Enforce the existing rules. (Smoking, morphed points, ect..)
  • Keep up on the small maitenance issues better. (Nicks and scrapes in furniture)
  • Offer concierge level at all DVC Resorts, either with points or cash.
  • Have can-can girls in the living room.

Interesting thread.

I would like a better year-around break for golfers. My foursome travels every winter, but usually stop in Myrtle Beach. Love to make it to WDW. Even HHI could help with golfers. Very small discount now available.

Like the idea of an open Fastpass. One per day for each member and guest staying with member.

Compared to other TS, (we also own Marriott and Wyndham) DVC is by far the best and easiest org. to do business.

a 20% discount at all WDW restaurants. I know we have the dining plan available, but I don't always go to a high end dinner nightly and just one or 2 nights of a longer stay would be great.

How about 1 or 2 DVC families a week gets a stay in the castle after the current Millions Dreams promotion ends. Picked at random, this would make it very special and also a nice perk to tell potential new members that they could have a chance to stay there.

monthly merry mixers, not just seasonal or you can theme them after holidays and schedule them at that time of year, like halloween, Easter, 4th of July, Saint Patrick's Day, etc.

This one might be interesting. A Magic Kingdom after hours, all nighter for DVC members that you can stay until the sun comes up. I know this will mess with nightly cleanup, but it would be cool the see the morning sun at MK. Also plan special events throughout the night. That would make being a member very special, because I don't ever recall this being done before.

Expand the Concierge Collection to include at least one nice hotel in the Major US Cities.

Currently there are no offerings in
Dallas - St Louis - Kansas City - Atlanta
Nashville – Houston – Philadelphia – Cincinnati – Denver, etc.
Also, negotiating better (lower) point requirements for these options would be great too.

Peace,
G4L

I would like to see an addition to the concierge collection in Las Vegas. At one of the following properties would be ideal:

Bellagio
Wynn (including the Tower Suites)
Venetian
